Hi all. We're settled into the hotel and don't really feel like watching a movie yet, so here we are. :XD I'm stuffed on Chinese and praying for quick digestion.

Wow I took my eye off the ball for a brief minute to look up famous people with mental illnesses (as Tesla is absolutely bizarre and interesting...he was a genius too...Very inspiring!) and it's amazing how many famous faces battled with some aspect of it.

I really wish they had a shopping cart in the special event store. I hate having to individually buy everything.

It's not like the red packets are worth a damn anyways...

Isn't it? I keep hoping eventually people will gear into a de-stigmatized view of mental illness. Maybe in time? Meh... but think about how long it's been since homosexuality was taken out of the DSM. People are coming around to that it's not "wrong" or "disgusting" (or an actual illness, mind), but some still won't let go of it.

I love all the nurse crap...and the ribbons. I want more ribbons! :D

Chi - I know it's sad. I don't see a wrong with straying from the standard deviation as long as no one is hurt. You know if it's two consenting adults they should be allowed to do as they like is always been my take. I'm fairly liberal with most things though...

Izumi, one of the bigger debates my Abnormal Psych class got into was transsexualism. Specifically, gender reassignment surgery. Right now, anyone wanting it has to be diagnosed through the DSM because without a diagnosis, insurance wouldn't ever cover the surgery. Well, people are tired of being labeled as "ill" or "diseased" because of it. It's a double-edged sword though.

If it's taken out of the DSM and no longer viewed as a mental illness within the medical world, then they lose insurance for surgeries and hormone replacement therapies. But if it stays in, the stigma will never leave.
