@ Sarofset: My favourite way to eat them is to mash them up, then form them into little pancakes, then fry them up in some butter (browning them on both sides), then sprinkle them with salt and pepper.

No. the term gypsy is not generally considered derogatory. Although the whole thing about them being thieves is.

@ popcorn: I think "gypsies" in general prefer to be called by their actual name, which is Roma or Romani. Although Lise seems to come from a special tribe/band, judging by the name...

Yes!
Beacause I was watching a movie and this woman they called a gypsy was treated very badly.
She hadn't DONE anything wrong at all, but they were shunning her.
And other men tried to treat her liek she was property (to be bought and sold as a slave) all because she had a bit of a psychic gift.

I think I've heard that term before..."Romani"...
I can't remember where though.
Maybe it was on one of my old museum field trips.
We made derishes, and wrote poems that they printed off for us in small books.
