Mei: Are you in England?

Seiki: I just have an issue with going somewhere to exercise. Like, if I were a member of a gym, it would be a 13 minute walk from here, and it seems odd to add in that extra time if I was just going to run in place when I got there anyway.

AkashaHeartilly 02-11-2010 10:28 PM

So how goes everyone here?
I see the thread grew quite a bit while I was gone and sleeping.

Cookies still left?

Yeah that's another reason... It's also why I want a dog..
That way there's an excuse to be out and about like that. >.<

Dogs are good for all sorts of reasons. :XD

Rusalka 02-11-2010 10:31 PM

Exactly. I can't exactly take my cats out for walks.. though the two bengals may enjoy it.. but not jogs.

Cami 02-11-2010 10:33 PM

I was just imagining you running with a cat on a leash...

Akasha: Yep! They're all yours.

steelmagghia 02-11-2010 10:33 PM

Bengals actually do fairly well on leashes. But, yeah, jogging the cat would just be an exercise in futility. Not an actual exercise. Hehehe.
There is a lady in my complex who walks her ferret. It's super cute.

Rusalka 02-11-2010 10:37 PM

Yeah.. trying to officially walk a ferret like a dog is futile.. especially when I have three. I have leashes and all that for them.. I just usually let them run around outside with the harness, it has a bell so I know where they are all the time. xD And of course I have to chase them.

Cami 02-11-2010 10:39 PM

I've never seen so many uses of the word futile in one place.

steelmagghia 02-11-2010 10:40 PM

Man now I want a ferret again. Except that the doggies probably would not do well with ferrets. They have a tendency to need to explore everything that moves, and I think Fizz might try to hunt the ferret.

Edit: @Cami: Hehe, it's Futility Hour with Rusa and Steel!

AkashaHeartilly 02-11-2010 10:40 PM

I've seen cats outside on leash's, it's kind of entertaining. Not sure how our cat would do if we took him out on a lease.

Cami 02-11-2010 10:44 PM

Do they have a collar or a full harness?

steelmagghia 02-11-2010 10:45 PM

Usually a harness. I've thought about it with our family cat, but he'd totally just lay there. Maine Coons are...lazy as heck. Haha.

Rusalka 02-11-2010 10:48 PM

My bengals are very active.. so they may do good. They're always trying to escape anyhow.

My Rei won't walk on a leash though I'd tried.. I may try with the bengals when it's not winter.. >.> or spring.. xD

AkashaHeartilly 02-11-2010 10:48 PM

Harness, I don't think a collar would be good for a lease with kitty.

Rusalka 02-11-2010 10:49 PM

No it wouldn't.. it may strangle itself my accident.

Yeah, I've seen lots of Bengals on leashes. It's a good system. Maine Coons just lay there and try to play or cuddle, though, so it totally doesn't work. Heh.

AkashaHeartilly 02-11-2010 10:53 PM

Lease and harness ide ais sounding good. I know my cat would love to be able to go outside again. But we have been getting him some kitty friendly plants.

steelmagghia 02-11-2010 10:55 PM

Does he chew on plants? There are so many poisonous houseplants.

AkashaHeartilly 02-11-2010 10:57 PM

Yes he does. So we have got him some cat grass, and keep it to plants that if he does chew on them, not bad for him, just bad for the plant. Also, he doesn't like going after our herb garden plants, which is nice.

That is good. My dogs hate the pet grass I bought. They like specific grasses on the lawn. Weirdos.

Rusalka 02-11-2010 11:00 PM

Gotta go! I have work in half hour. Bai!!

Be careful in those torture devices, missy!

AkashaHeartilly 02-11-2010 11:02 PM

Bye Rusa!

Yeah, he liked this one we bought him before, he went crazy over that stuff. But the pet grass we got out of a growing your own one, he doesn't seem to care for as much, but he does chew on it.
