Being in porn is often a very shocking experience, especially since most of the mainstream porn out there is considered "gonzo" (ie: super duper misogynistic and humiliating).
It's hard to become a porn start the likes of Jenna Jamison or Ron Jeromy because nowadays there are just so many of them, that they do one or two movies and another nameless faceless girl is there who is younger and looks better and takes their place.
The porn industry does tend to use up and spit out it's talent within a couple of years.
Of course, if you're lucky enough to get into something like nude modeling or the BDSM community (real, not the gonzo substitute) you might be able to actually make some money and make a career of it.
But you also have to have a very specific sort of temperament to last long in the industry.
I say this as someone who has absolutely no personal experience, but who has done a lot of research because porn and the porn industry is interesting to me.
