Sounds like hes fearful. Have you done any training?

I tried to train him when I got him, but my stepmom made me put him outside in a kennel because she didn't like him and he peed on the floor ONCE. ;__; Every time I tried to let him out, I'd get yelled at. So I spent most of the time with him sitting on his igloo in his kennel with him on my lap. I feel so bad for him, he's such a sweet heart..

What are the other dogs that you have in the house? It really sounds like a problem of lack a of socialization. How old are you? Do you have a car? If there is a local dog park around, you may want to try that. A lot of times a dog that lacks socialization will act out aggressively towards its owners.

The other dogs are one big one (Bear, he's a german shephard mix) who's an outside dog. He loves everyone and everything, but Ricco totally rejects him. And my smaller dog, Chipmunk. She's an inside dog though. I try my best to spend time with Ricco when I can, but I'm 15 and I'm busy with school. I got him when I was 10, and I had a lot more time to spend with him, which was cut short by my stepmom (hates mutts.). And I can't put a leash on him, he spazzes and bolts whenever he gets outside the yard. D:

Just sounds like he needs someone that can help him use all that energy. I know this must be really hard for you, I know because I have done it too and it stings when you have to think about that.

That's exactly what he needs. Right now, I just really need my dad to fix our gate so that we could have both our boys out of the kennel, but separated. That way, he'd have the whole back yard to run around in, and he'd be a lot calmer. If he could just do that, then I'd be able to keep him. But my dad has been pushing that aside...He won't even talk to me about it...He's still mad at me I guess. He made me get rid of my cat last summer (I still cry sometimes). She meant a lot to me.

Why would your dad be so mad that he wouldnt fix the gate? You know, a lot of times parents get upset because of HOW their kids say things. I mean, I know this because I have been there, and not all that long ago. My folks and I had a really rocky relationship while I was in high school and even college. It was rough because you feel like youre right and they arent listening. This is hard to get when you are young, cause you have so much going on in your life. High school is hell, and can be really rough if you are just a lil bit different. I was WAY different, so I totally get that.

If you talk to your dad and approach it in such a way that makes it sound like you are trying to fix the problem and not be upset, it may help. (Mind you this is from my experiences with my family and the families of friends, so I cant even say I know your family) Just tell him that you would like to help him fix the gate. Dont even bring up Ricco. If that doesnt work, tell your dad that you have been looking up rescues that may be able to re-home him. That really ought to impress him. It shows initiative.

I've tried talking to him nicely, I always do. D: Or he doesn't listen. But he always just says 'The gate is fine, just drop it.' I think it's because he knows why I want to fix it. The gate isn't even there anymore though. It's like...Ripped off the hinges..

And I'll try to talk to him tomorrow. It's a long ride to my orthodontist haha..

Just do your best. Your dad will be proud of you for looking into rescues. *nod nod*

On a side note, I really need to get hearts for packets...I want something that is like, 10 packets...or 261 gold...GAH ._.;;

Braces aren't entirely terrible, they just suck when you have to get them tightened and fixed up every month
