I also always support our president, whoever he may be.

I do. I do think that it's taken far longer than it should. But the war on terror is a good idea at base and that's my stand.

It has taken an awful long time, but some say it is a necessary evil.

That is the best thing about our country.

I fully believe that everybody is entitled to their opinion.

I think that our leaders have very hard decisions to make. There are no easy answers.

I support soldiers and used to support the war. I don't know now though. it seems too painful on a lot of people.

It is painful, Kat. It hurts a lot every day waking up knowing my bros arent here. And then not seeing my youngest bro at Christmas. I got to see the older one though. That was real cool. I loved having him home!

Pain is part of the process. and I can support a motion to pull out just yet b/c all it would lead to is mass chaos and maybe worse.

I remember once how we got into a discussion about the draft in one of my history classes. The professor asked what we would do if they did re-enstate it and included women.

I told him that I wouldn't go. He didn't seem to like my response, but he decided that he respected my answer when I said that I refused to fight for a cause I did not believe in and that I would be willing to essentially live in exile for it. Later on, I learned that he used to be in the army. He actually got out just a few months before th 9/11 attacks happened.

Wings, the Middle East has pretty much always been a politcally unstable region. That was one thing I definitely learned after my Islamic Civ. class last semester. Being based around a tribal system makes it difficult to function with a lot of the types of government that are trying to be imposed on the various countries. They simply don't mesh with their culture.

I actually don't think I qualify for the draft, what with my twisted tibias, my screwy ankle and knee, and the whole in my heart. But I don't support the draft either. I think if somebody doesn't want to fight they shouldn't have to.

One rule that I always have in my home:

No discussion about religion, and no discussion about politics.

People have very strong opinions, and you will never be able to change their minds.
Somebody usually just ends up getting upset.

Perhaps we should think about that here?

I know I don't qualify for the draft. I was in the army until two years ago. That's how I lost my ankle ligaments.

lol. my family needs that rule instated... we are all on the same side and yet we still get into huge arguments. I'm not entirely sure how that is possible

Yea, I got to round 9, and was able to say enough! I got 8 hearts!!!

Sometimes arguments are good because they clear the air.
For families that tends not to be true.

I try very hard to never argue with my family. They are too precious to me.

My family argues in a loving way for the most part. It drives my mom and sister insane, but me and my dad love to debate politics. Though every now and then he gets a little bit too radical conservative for me. religion isn't discussed much in my family either. we have all the way from conservative catholics to me who doesn't like religion at all. me and my best friend/cousin talk about it a lot and we are on opposite ends of that spectrum i just talked about.
