anyone else in love with getting so much snow?

D:
i feel bad for all the people who arent enjoying the streets though

(I live in Delaware, in the U.S.)

;__;
i'm going to be stuck talking to myself for the entirety of this event,
and i'm gonna get hardly any heartssss

KidK Mirai 02-11-2010 05:14 AM

Hey, I'm in NJ and I've been SO happy to have so much snow on the ground. It's bought me a day off from work today and possibly one tomorrow. XD So it seems like a gift.

Lethargie 02-11-2010 05:16 AM

:) my boyfriend has off on his birthday (tomorrow),
and i have off school until Wednesday.
AND, i get to run in the street without any cars going by~

KidK Mirai 02-11-2010 05:21 AM

Hey, that's handy, a free birthday off.

Actually if I'm off tomorrow I don't have to go back until Tuesday. Nice 'long weekends' are nice.

siaasgn 02-11-2010 05:23 AM

I'm not so happy with all the snow.

I mean - I had off from work today and tomorrow - but I also just spent 2 hours shoveling my driveway with my husband and housemate & we're still not done :gonk:

Lethargie 02-11-2010 05:26 AM

D:
oh, i hear ya on that one.
i get to re-shovel tomorrow with all the drifts in the yard filling up my tracks.

not so much fun when you have no work, but you have to spend the whole break shoveling.

Kitt 02-11-2010 05:27 AM

I love snow! I don't love shoveling it though...

siaasgn 02-11-2010 05:27 AM

Yeah - I'm wishing we had a snow blower right about now :p

KidK Mirai 02-11-2010 05:30 AM

Augh, yeah, the shoveling is the not-fun part. I'm kinda getting out of it this year because I broke my right hand a couple weeks ago and have to keep a splint on it and not do any heavy lifting. I feel bad 'cause usually I help my dad out.

Lethargie 02-11-2010 05:36 AM

):
at least he knows you'd want to though,
and it must really suck to not have the use of one hand.

KidK Mirai 02-11-2010 05:44 AM

It kinda does. I can do things like type but it's awkward, and my hand aches if I try to lift even a cooking pot. Still, the break isn't too bad and I don't have a full cast, so I tell myself it could be a lot worse and feel better. =]

And this way I can be even more grateful for snow days from work.

Meanwhile, I think it's still coming down out there, wow.

Lethargie 02-11-2010 05:50 AM

yeah,
i have no idea if it's still snowing here.
it's been off and on for a little while.

I half hope it keeps going, build building's roofs keep collapsing,
and if we keep missing school,
they'll push back the graduation date.
D:
and i wanna graduate ASAP

siaasgn 02-11-2010 06:06 AM

I'm actually worried how the city is going to pay for all this- we were having budget issues before all this happened- and now they have to come up with all this extra money for snow removal :/

Lethargie 02-12-2010 01:28 AM

Our town is awful with the snow plowing,
last time they sat around watching TV and waited until the snow stopped to start doing shit.

D:

Popcorn Gun 02-12-2010 06:07 AM

Lol, yes my town got snow.
But we ALWAYS get snow, so we're usually prepared for it.
One year -maybe last year- there was so much of it, that we ran out of salt for it all!
But for the most part we're well covered.
It snows, they plow as it's happening, and right after it's stopped.

My cousin on the other hand who lives down in Texas never gets snow-until JUST recently- and was pretty pleased with her snow day, lol.

Lethargie 02-12-2010 06:13 AM

xD
i could imagine texas road crews freaking out at the sight of snowfall.
WTF IS THIS I DONT EVEN
