I went straight to another that actually closed down 4 months later (issues with the landlords), and I've had the job I'm at now for 1 year. Food service can be good for a temporary job or I guess retail. My first two jobs when in food service. I stuck it out as long as I could at both jobs.

Deek: Where I am, the only limitations on serving mixed drinks is you have to be 21 to do so. I don't believe you need a permit. I just looked up the laws and it didn't say anything about having a permit.

Really? We have to have permits here.

My first job was in food service for 5 months then photograpy lab for 5 months and then housekeeping for about 3 or 4 years, Warehouse for 1 year and food service again for 6months.

I'd rather not do food service but you gotta do what you gotta do. I may end up in Mcdonalds for a little bit. Who knows.

As long as the restaurant has a permit, it's fine for anyone over the age of 21 to be a bartender. It was nice finding that out.
