It was the second place I looked... the first was the home page >.>; Just because important stuff is usually put there first... then I thought to check where it actually was. xDD. I'm glad that I could help you with hints though. ^^

Would it bother anyone if I ranted on about the '10 Valentine dragons? :insane: 'Cause I'm starting to get more than a little ticked off at a lot of people on DC and need to rant.

Mostly the people who have been having Catchers get the '10 Valentine eggs for them, and the people that I'm pretty sure are exploiting a glitch to get an Alt Val egg. :<

O.o They are? That's terrible! *glares at cheaters* they need to get them themselves, legitimately! That's half the adventure!

Wtf? I added my V-day egg to my signature last night and when I looked at it this morning, there were no views or clicks. Then I figured out that somehow I had posted someone else's V-day egg O_o I'm hoping that was just some sort of glitch when I copied my code. The right code is there now, so if anyone clicked, you might wanna try again lol.

Isn't it, though? D: Worst part is, I'm pretty sure that they're going to get away clean with it. ;w; No one seems to care if people get Catchers to get their Val10 eggs or cheat to get the Alts only certain people are suppose to have.

Agnes; Oo, grats! 8D Do you have a different egg now? If so you were a victim of a glitch, and now have an Alt Val egg. <3

No, it's the same egg. I noticed when I copied the code again that the number at the end was different than the one I posted last night.

Agnes; Huh. o_o; But if the code's different even slightly, wouldn't that mean that it is a different egg?

When I snatched the V-day egg, I copied the code right away. But for some reason, the code that was copied, wasn't for my egg. It was for someone else's V-day egg. I had to back to my scroll and get the correct code.

I've been up all night and I'm about to head to bed, make an attempt at some sleep... but I had to comment on the whole catchers thing... As far as I'm concerned catchers aren't a method of cheating. There are users out there who're running on DIAL-UP... and there's no way in hell that they can get the new eggs that are only out for one day because of all of us with DSL and what have you. I used to catch eggs for my friend when she had Dial-up because she couldn't ever get one. There was nothing wrong with that and I still don't think there is anything wrong with it. It's nice and generous for those who have faster connections to help those who are less fortunate.

As for the people who have DSL and are looking for catchers... well... I don't really like that but I still don't think there is anything wrong with that. I mean... some people just aren't fast enough to get these eggs before the time limit is up and should they miss out just because they're not good at snagging the eggs? No, they shouldn't... especially when they could ask someone who is nice enough to catch one for them.

Oh, then of course there are people who have to work... or are too busy to be able to sit at computer all day trying for one of these. There is nothing wrong with letting someone else snag it for you, especially if you turn around and do the favor of breeding the hell out of it next year round. *end tired rant* I have nothing against catchers and personally I feel shame on anyone who bashes a catcher who is willing to help someone out who wants something they're having trouble getting by themselves for whatever reasons they might have.

Now... bed time... xD. *scoots off*

Yotsy; If it's a friend catching for a friend and they know each other IRL, then I'm tentatively fine with it. As well as if someone has work or school, then I also make exceptions there. But it's the people with decent internet who CAN be on the computer all day but are too lazy to catch the eggs themselves that tick me off. :shrug:

Except in the friend-for-a-friend scenario, though, I don't like or support catchers at all. If someone's having trouble, they can ask a friend for help or post on a gifting thread. :/ In my opinion, giving a Catcher a temp password to your account so they can do the work for you is just as bad as downloading a program to catch the eggs for you.

G'night~ =]

I'm... a sucker for rants when I'm tired... apparently... *totally waited for a response* >.>;;

I can understand the agitation with users who have the means to get the eggs themselves but don't feel like it. Really, I understand that that can be annoying and frustrating, especially when you haven't managed to get the eggs yourself. But, to my knowledge it is not against TOS for a Catcher to be solicited to help another user... so it isn't really cheating. Then of course if you wanted to be technical anyone who has ever gone to a breeder for an egg is a cheater too, by those views since you don't really have to work that hard to get an egg from a breeder once you have the code to snatch it up. That's beside the point though. Using a catcher is a users option and I don't feel that it or the users looking into it should be bashed. It'd be like hating someone because of their religious beliefs or because they were left handed when you were right handed or something...

Honestly... the only reason I could even see being pissed off at catchers is when you can't get the egg yourself. Otherwise what's the problem? If you've managed the egg then there is no reason to be angry at how other users go about getting it, just be proud of yourself for doing it without any assistance. I may be repeating myself and if that is the case I do apologize... it's the tired's kicking in overdrive. At any rate, you have your opinion and I have mine and I would appreciate it everyone could refrain from violent [even if joking] verbal actions or whatever being voiced against catchers and the users who use them. It's their choice and no one needs to be bashed for it and I know for a fact some of the users of the DCAA have used catchers or have been catchers at one point or another... and I'd like for this to stay a healthy discussion versus anything more... discriminatory.

I personally find this game excruciatingly irritating. I have slow DSL and my computer isn't...much faster. I can't grab eggs, by the time the page loads to the point I can click anything, the eggs are all snatched up. So...I either get someone to gab me one or go without. I've all but quit messing with the game at all because I have so much trouble gathering any new eggs. I usually wait until they've been out a long time and then try to catch them in the abandoned section after most people have one already. That being said...when an egg is only out on a certain day, if Yotsy doesn't snag for me, I just don't get it.

>.> I don't understand your definition of friends in real life, either.... What does it matter if the person lives down the street or in another state, does that make people any less friends? O.o; *shakes head* Anyway...yeah... I just totally failed at getting a valentine egg. XD

Okay, I'm not thinking clearly or sanely enough for a debate or serious discussion today, so let's see if I can say this in a way where I won't come off as an incoherent asshole. xD;

Yes. Whether or not to use a catcher is a users own choice. If someone has slow DSL- like Cyndel- I can see why they would get a catcher to get the eggs for them. But for pretty much anyone else, I don't see why they would even consider it. It's like going on a scavenger hunt and then asking your team mate to do all the searching for you- what's the point?

Breeders and catchers are rather different. Yes, you could argue that getting and egg from a breeder is cheating, but even if you have the code for the egg you still have to actually catch it, and there's always the risk that someone will intercept the trade.

True, it's not against the TOS. But hacking into other peoples' accounts isn't against the TOS- does that mean it's right? No.
I don't mean to say that catchers and hackers are in anyway similar, that was just the first comparison that popped to mind.

I think catchers are always going to be a dividing line between users. There's always going to be someone who views them as perfectly fine, and there's always going to be someone who views them as cheating.

And on that note, I've been in a foul mood all day and really shouldn't have been ranting as I'm not the most pleasant person to be around right now. I am terribly sorry if I said anything that offended anyone, as that was not my intention. ^^' Right now I think that I should get offline before I say anything I'll later regret in my less-than-thinking-clearly state.

Cyndel; There's a vast difference between someone you know online and offline, and someone you only know online in my mind. You can never tell if someone online is telling the truth- I'd never give someone I know offline the password to my account, and I'd definitely never give someone I barely knew online my account, even if they said they were trustworthy.

I'm pretty sure that I must've left something out, but I'm not sure what. I'll try to edit it later if I spot what I've forgotten, but for now I'm going to log off. ^^' Good afternoon, and happy Valentines to all.

Well, I don't go around handing out my passwords to just whoever. I'm not so suspicious of the world to think everyone's going to screw me over because I like to think I'm not the only honest person left in the world. I have to talk to a person for a long while before I will trust them, but in my mind...you have to give a person the benefit of the doubt and deal with the consequences if you were wrong to do so. I don't like being too guarded, but I don't really think I'm too trusting ether. Few and far between as they are, there are people out there who still have that little voice in the back of their heads telling them not to do something asshole-ish just because they don't have to see that person again. I can tell when someone is just after my password for something, and I can tell when someone actually wants to be helpful. At any rate...most of my best friends are online and know me better than the friends I have in person. Distance doesn't mean much to me, so long as the person is willing to put up with me and my bullshit. lol.

Aaaand bye bye then. XD;

Oh gosh, lots to read today. =D Cyndel's sig just sent me over somewhere where I dropped a phoenix down on my old avi. I still am not sure I like that site, though those are very pretty eggs.

Speaking of eggs, time to see what my eggies did or didn't do over night. D=

Okay, I see what's going on at DC now, lol. There's only a zillion people stalking the entrance page. It's okay, though. If there's a limit on two eggs per account, it should even out before long, I hope. D=

I know that. My clicking speed is down and there's the headache the diving for Kleenex. Add on the occasionally watering eyes and you have a mix that is horrid for catching anything.
