Hey! I thought I'd give making a thread a try!

Who here likes tarot and fortune telling? I know around where I live love fortunes are really popular. There is even a 'Physic's Fair' that comes around. I went once, but I didn't have my fortune told; it was way too expensive!!

For something fun, though, I can tell you what you're Personality/Soul cards are! Its really just a bit of math with birth dates, but its pretty fun.

For example: I was born 05 20 1987 so my personality and soul cards are the same. The Hierophant: The ability to believe in spiritual things. A need for structure, a sense of belonging, and a desire to maintain customs.

Well that is putting is simply, haha.

Anyone want to know what their card is?


I'll also do angel card readings for anyone who'd like it. I wont say that it'll be perfectly accurate though; distance readings are more accurate when the reader knows the person they read for. Still I'm willing to try! And if I'm wrong you can laugh and call me silly. :D

All you have to do is think about how you feel for a moment, then give me number between 3 and 10. That will determine how many cards I draw for you.

^^ I even have two tarot decks. Well. One, really. The other I bought cause it's pretty. XD Got norse runes, some palmistry books..and like..karmic love cards that're fun.

i have two taro decks as well
a mini one that i like to use becuse its more accurate ( its has dragons on it)
and a big (regular sized acctualy) one that is a crow taro and is much more vauge and harder for me to read with

I'm not sure if i'm skeptical of if it's real or psychological or what.
or if i'm afraid of the ouija board or not.

Lethargie: I'd say ALWAYS be afraid of the ouija board. I never once had a nice ouija experience; it's just something I don't care to dabble in ever again.

what types of readings do you do?
Ive never gotten a reading because there so expenisve too! I havent even gotten one from a friend becasue I'm the only person I know that does them. I have given readings though. I mainly do relationship spreads or three cards of advice for others. though for myself I will usualy do the seven chakras as well. Every once in a while when I realy need to think about things I'll do the full house spread and break out both decks.

ive heard a LOT of bad stories about oijja boards.... not something im interested in.

but i've had some bad and some strange experiences and
i dont know what could happen the next time.

I'd have to buy one of the darn things first to experiment with it and its just not worth it to me, plus id probaly get a bad experience too.

one my freinds said that they did it in his old house where the electricity bill hadnt been paid in a year so there was no electiricity but when they were doing it the lights in the house flickered on and off once or twice.

and my other friend got a stomach virus the day after she played with one on new years eve

blankgirl: I typically do the traditional Celtic spread. Though in this case I'm adding the numbers of birthdays to get a number between 1 and 22. Each resulting number represents a card from the major arcana.


Lethargie: My problem with ouija is that the things one attracts with it don't just go away. It's just way too unsafe. :/

I would love to learn the celtic spread, i could probably find it online but I just havent devoted the time to it. I don't even meditate on them like I'm supposed to...>.<

Yeah doesnt that thing like open up a doorway or something? and even if you destroy it the things ( spirits) wont go away? Everyone says not to burn it for some reason, yet I hear people burn it? @[email protected]

You wont just get spirits. Sometimes more dangerous things show up. I don't fully understand it, so I just stay away.

The celtic spread isn't completely simple, but I find it gives me the best results. I sometimes meditate with them. I still have trouble with all of the definitions though. The major arcana are easy, but there are 56 minor arcana, those are the ones that give me trouble. Haha

Its great that you meditatie with them, you sure have devoted more time to it than me. Altough I did buy a book about its history and origins and read it completly before I even decided to get into tarot.

Have you seen the manga tarot? It so pretty! I would love to own it someday. I think it would be realy fun to collect taro cards and build my own personalized deck but alas I dont have that knid of money... T_T

That is more then I did! I just dove right in! I thought I should read books, and memorize the meanings before I started doing readings, but in the end I did it all backwards. It must have been funny to see me looking up the card meanings in books as I was telling the fortune! I still have to do that sometimes though.

I do that in my personal readings for myself, then I record it in a notebook to look at later so I can look back on my predictions. This is for the dragon deck which has far more imagery and is better for symbolism becuse I used the pictures as well, like the facing positions.

As for readings with other people I use the Crow deck which has two words on the bottom of each card and didnt come with a book to interpret it. Its vauger so its better for me to use, I like to be a bit vauger with other people as a result of my little knowledge about Taro.

However, everyone that I have read has given me good feedback. ^_^ I just wouldnt want to lead them astray you know? I'd feal terrible if someone relied on my taro reading for important decison making!

I never try to predict the future. For me it's all about getting a clearer perspective on the present, so I can make the future what I want it to be. I don't do readings for others as much as I do for myself though.

Well for others I do the future but VERY vaugely.. as I dont know what I'm doing. >.<
like the relationship spread is past present and future. Plus, thats all anyone wants to know about anyways. >.<

As for myself I use it to look at problems form a different perspecive. It helps clear my mind and lets me focus on the important things in my life rather than tha little non important things that it so constatnly gets cluttered up with.
