Hello everyone else who keeps "odd hours"! (Only 8 PM here, so not too odd a time for me =D)

I've only read the first post and the last page, but I seem to have hit a good international group. I'm currently in China, and it is my research specialty. I agree that it is annoying that most Japanophiles don't know much beyond anime.

I've read part of one manhwa, liked it a lot, but couldn't finish it because I couldn't find any more volumes. I've heard lots of good things about Korean music and dramas, but haven't seen any yet.

I'm more likely to read Manwha than watch Kdramas. I'm considering getting into Manhua too. I'd start trying to learn Chinese, but it seems harder than Japanese, so I wanna learn that first. Then Korean, then Chinese. Or Russian.

I read manhwa, mostly because I don't consider it any different to manga, or to western comics for that matter! :D I liek any comics that have nice art and a good plot.

Manhwa is Korean comics Allanasha. :)

Kayxx - I've studied both Chinese and Japanese. Japanese is easier at first, but gets really challenging with grammar later on. Chinese seems intimidating to most people at first, but gets a lot easier.

@Allanasha: If you're willing to give it a try, here's a youtube link to DGCH. It took a folk story and modernized it into a romantic comedy.
Manwha is Korean comics while manhua is Chinese comics.

@Strawberry: The only thing that draws me to the event commons right now is the fact that they're half off. ^^;; Otherwise, I just focus on the event items. <3

@Shimawa: Have you always lived in China or are you studying there? ^^

Tried looking for food and failed. Gonna go continue my search.

Tori; Manhwa... is impossible to find here. So much to envy.:illgetu:
/massive DBSK fan.
I love a lot of mainstream kpop and hiphop. They're so hard not to love. But mostly DBSK, MC Mong, HOT , Seo Taiji.
I'm a sucker for Park Chan Wook. Oldboy got me interested, but watching his other movies I seriously fell in love. That man is a genius.
As for dramas, I haven't watched any in months because I blew my speakers... but I don't much have a favorite. I've seen heaps, though. They're so addicting. I used to scoff at drama obsessers because I didn't care for drama, but oh jeez, after watching some kdramas I couldn't let go. I hoard a lot of movies, though.

How does one make a meal out of wheat bread, shredded cheese, and beans?

I don't think I could ever get into Kdramas I can barely get into tv shows here. I'm still catching up on episodes of Angel that I've managed to miss.

@Voe Make a shredded cheese sandwich. Skip the beans.

ToriKat - I am currently traveling through China on my way to a semester abroad program here. I did a semester stay at a different location in China a few years ago, and now I'm back to continue to work on my language, and learn more about the culture. Basically, it's been the focus of my study in undergrad and will be in graduate school, which I will start this fall.

If anyone knows anywhere to watch a good Kdrama besides Youtube (blocked in China) let me know.

Yeah; i bought the syringes and this skirt, and all the eyepatches because of that. x] But I cant afford to do that anymore. I gotta make 15k, so I can buy two jade ronins and a star catcher when one pops into exsistance. x]

Shim; There's always mainstream sites like dramacrazy or mysoju.

Ahh, I love standup in general.
But damn, Jeff's show really bombed imo. Was so disappointed.
