chihiro needs to let me know! :drool: I was thinking of moving to Seoul eventually but there's no way to properly learn Korean around here. Small city. z__z I always thought a huge language barrier would be kind of fun for a while, though.

yea i'm prolly just overly optimistic and naive, but i think it'll work out. Japanese and Korean aren't that similar, but some of the grammar is. and the fact that Korean only has ONE phonetic alphabet instead of three reaaaaaaaaaaaaally works in my favor i think, lol. i just need to hurry up and learn better Korean so i can make some friend on my own who aren't from English speaking countries, haha

I really need to try to learn to speak another language. I hardly ever get practice though.

I know four, kind of five languages fluently. They're all euro languages, though. I was born in France. :cry:


I always thought Korean seemed a lot easier. Well, easier than the other Asian languages, at least. The alphabet is great. So great. z__z;

It´s a true alphabet as far as I know. Hangul, I mean.

Four? Holy crap ... I thought I was doing well with spanish, and a bit of french and a little Japanese ... of course, I'm american ...

@Voe: if you think you could stand teaching English, i def think you should come do it! i'm from a small town too, and i don't have an education degree. anyone with a 4yr college degree and no criminal record can do it basically. the thing is there r no positions in Seoul in my program, cuz mine is thru the public school system and Seoul is mostly private schools.

Voe, why do you know that many? Did you have to learn them for school?

I grew up around the languages, so I picked them up quickly is all. D8 I fell out of another language or else it'd be five or six. It's hard to remember so many languages so I worry about learning Korean. :cry:

Well, living there, you'd pick it up naturally ... or you'd like ... fail .... lol

chihi; I don't think I could teach English. I mean, I'm a horrible teacher and I'm already a physics major. I don't have any real passions in life so I kind of just want to plant myself somewhere new and see what happens. *__*;


My family is a huge mix of heritages, so they're mostly to blame for my expansive languages. :drool:

The most difficult language I have attempted to learn is Russian.

I don't know any asian languages, though. They're so different. ;__; It's intimidating. I know, huh? Only thing left is to learn Korean, chihi. It shouldn't be that hard if you already know Japanese. I can't tutor for crap, so I suppose teaching isn't far off. I'm really good with physics yet I can't even help highschooler friends with their calculus. T___T

I wouldn't know, but my 15 year old cousin is fluent in it .... of course, he's been learning it since the first grade >.>
