Common items you can get all the time, they go into the shop and stay there.

Event items can only be aquired during an event after which they've gone for good. It's like with the monthly collectables they're only avaible for a certain ammount of time before they go.

I think by rares they mean the collectibles? Which you can only get through donating to Mene or buying them off someone that donates?

Rares can be event items, commemorative items, or special items that NPC´s hand out at random.

I am so bad at explaining everything ever. P: Which makes it difficult when they want me to train new people at work. Heh heh.

When I started there weren't any NPC items so I keep forgetting that they're classed as rares.

I'm always tempted to write instruction manuals so I don't have to explain things to different people all the time, but I'm too lazy xD

Even the most inclusive user manuals can miss stuff sometimes.

There's still a goodly number of hours left, so if you're able to still until the end of the event you should still be able to get all of the items, I think. :3
