@Connie: I didn't like him either when I first saw it after having only watched Tennant but over time I sort of formed a truce with my dislike of his methods when handling the monsters and the humans themselves, I do agree that Smith has a lot to live up to but I think he's done a brilliant job so far.

The 9th Doctor was my first Doctor, but I don't have that "my first Doctor" attachment to him. I did at first, but now my "first Doctor" love goes to the 10th. I bet you couldn't have guessed that. >>

@Robin: I agree with what you said about Smith. I personally think that many people expect too much from him when he is already doing a great job. Not everyone can agree with me, that's for sure, but I was surprised at Smith's performance. The only character I wasn't too fond of in series 5 was Amy. I thought I was going to hate Rose because of Amy, but I actually really like Rose. Piper did a swell job during season 1 (I haven't seen Rose with Tennant yet except for when I peeked at the snippet where they finally part ways forever. I wanted to cry.).
One of these days...I WILL see Tennant's doctor! xD I'm just lazy and also forgetful.

Demo - I'm not crazy about Amy either. I want to like her, but I'm kinda irritated with how she treats Rory. :/ If you're gonna fall in love with the Doctor, fine, understandable, but don't lead the poor boy on! It's Mickey all over again.
You must watch Tennant's Doctor! He is the ultimate Doctor. He's also lasted the longest of the new Doctors, so he's more developed than Eccleston's was and Smith's is so far. He's very fun, with just the right amount of moody seriousness. Also he makes lots of fun facial expressions when he talks.

On Demand would be the best solution for me as well. I need to break away from this laptop more often.

Cardinal Biggles: Well, I really would like to watch it when it is actually on BBC America but we don't have that channel here. Thankfully, we do have it On Demand.

Yes, sadly we don't have BBCA either. It was an acceptable fact until Comcast changed out the original Top Gear for it's bastard American offspring in the On Demand section :gonk:

Well the attraction of Top Gear isn't the cars (despite being a car nut's daughter, I couldn't care less), but rather the interaction between the three hosts.

Good 'ol Christmas...

I am Mr. Cooper, the ship's historian. And I shall be taking you to Old London Town in the country of UK. Ruled over by Good King Wenceslaus. Now human beings worshipped the great god Santa, a creature with fearsome claws, and his wife Mary. And every Christmas Eve, people of UK go to war with the country of Turkey. They then eat the Turkey people for Christmas dinner. Like savages!

Yeah, that's on my list of favorite quotations. And not just the "favorite Doctor Who quotes" list. I mean the "favorite quotes in the entire world" list.
Have any of you ever watched Keeping Up Appearances? The actor who plays Mr. Copper is so great in it!

Hard to explain. I mean, he plays Hyacinth Bucket's husband, but that doesn't really mean anything to you unless you know who Hyacinth Bucket is. lol. Have you ever watched the show?

I like Top Gear! My boyfriend's a car nut, so he got me to watch it some. Like Biggles, I don't care about the cars very much (only a bit) but I like the interactions, and especially some of the little "challenges" they do. They could make an entirely different show just from those challenges, I think.

Top Gear is usually a good laugh. I'm looking forward to their Christmas special too.
Keeping Up Appearances is one of those programmes which for me will always be associated with looong Sunday afternoons at my gran's house. ^^;

Yes, I have. I forget the name of the actor who plays Richard though (the husband). I've seen him in other things though, like Inspector Morse. He's very talented.

I saw keeping up appearances, a couple episodes. But then PBS booted it in favor of something else, and I couldn't watch any more.
Then I latched into Ladies of Letters. Then that got booted.
My favorite, recently, was Inspector Lewis.
But that's gone too.
I hate PBS for that. They get some GREAT BBC shows, only to boot them after a few months.
It's just not fair!
