I spent about 16 hours yesterday in a hospital... :shock: Not for me, of course! My great uncle ended up dying on us. :P He went into the hospital about two weeks ago with a lung infection, but they found he had lung cancer and it went systemic. So, BAM! He ded.

I wasn't close to him by any stretch of the imagination, although it was quite upsetting seeing his son, my second cousin, get all emotional. :(

...I got back from the hospital at 7 AM this morning. :lol: We were there from 11:30 AM until 7:00 AM, with a few intervals in between (for instance, we left to pick up pizza for everyone; then he ended up keeling over at 4 AM and we left at 5 AM, although we drove my second cousin around his favorite hangouts where he spent a lot of time with his dad... Which took us about another two hours. :shock: Such a long day!).

But, man. That was the closest I've come to witnessing death in my life. I was in the room when he died, although my second cousin was unfortunately not. :( He ran home to get a few things, and by the time he was back in the room, he'd been gone 20 minutes...

I just woke up about an hour ago. Yesterday was the longest day of my life, although I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love my family. :lol:

oh and hello again... i was sucked into the work of the sims 3 for a good day and half... but i am back now :P

i'm working on reading them right now linny. just finished the second one last night plan on starting the third one tonight or tomorrow.

I love Gale a lot, but I really have a soft spot for Peeta. I have to ask though, which book are you on? I don't want to give to much away.

I just finished catching fire. and haven't started mockingjay yet. Peeta... i have an interesting dilemma with Peeta, I know I should like him but I just can't.

Okay, so you know about Cinna. (I cried at that part.) I miss him so much! I also liked Finnick, Beetee and Wiress. I loved the arena in CF. The clock was a brilliant and terrifying concept.

Peeta... is complicated. There are some parts I don't like about him - like how can keep his calm - because I am stubborn like Katniss. But in the same aspect I think that he is one of the sweetest guys ever.

yeah. I actually kinda saw something like that coming. Cinna was too good of a character for them to not kill him. Plus he was too against the capitol and a bit too obvious about it. Then if you add that he is one of my favorite characters he was just doomed to die. (my favorite characters die about 90% of the time)

See I know I should like Peeta because he is a good guy and he is capable of keeping his calm. (I think I'm a lot like him in that regard, I get rather annoyed with katniss a lot b/c she's act first think later). But he's competition for Gale and that bugs me. Thus I can't allow myself to like him.

Finnick is pretty cool and Beetee is like wicked smart! I also like Haymitch he's a tough old jerk but he's pretty awesome.

I know what you mean. For me, I always end up falling in love with the evil guy. (ie. In Eragon I absolutely love Murtagh.) Cinna perhaps was a little too open about his rebelliousness. But it was funny at the same time. I think he was partly a comic relief character.

You brought up another part that I don't like about Peeta. :illgetu: I love Gale to pieces, and Peeta just seems like a brick wall in Katniss' way.

I wish, I so very much wish, that I knew someone as great as Haymitch. He is definitely one of those "diamond in the rough" characters. I think we're supposed to hate him, but he is co clever in his witty sarcastic ways that makes him endearing. Kind of like Hugh Laurie on House.

haha Cinna didn't really strike me as comic relief. He struck as one who was raised in the capitol but is his own man. I mean he was deliberately understated in his appearance while the rest of the makeover crew are ridiculously flamboyant

yeah that's exactly it. it is like everytime Katniss makes any progress towards Gale, Peeta is right there standing in the way and your like grr.

yeah. I didn't really like him in the first book, but once I understood his character. and why he drinks so much. and realized he's wickedly smart. I just game to respect him in a way that I don't respect most characters.

Wings- Cinna added a certain.. flavor(?) to the series. I think he was an only child. lol. I felt like he was on of those characters that pushed Katniss to do what she did. Albeit he wasn't a major factor... He still (pardon my pun) lit the fire. All I have to say about Peeta is wait till the last book. XD

Desi- :O You don't know? o.0 It's a very very interestinly awesomesaucetastical book series. I recommend it. :yes:

haha yeah. I totally also when reading cinna's part picture adam lambert (like a toned down version of him. adam on a less glammy day) and it really makes me love his character more. I keep getting told stuff like that. One of my roommate's said she was okay with Gale into the third book... so urgh.

you definitely should Desi. It's pretty light reading but it's interesting. At least I think it's light reading, but i'm an english major

Desi- It's funny, after a few students in my old high school should it to a teacher, the whole English department made it a required book. :rofl: Only the first one though, but people that love the story keep reading them.

Wings- OMG. YES! I hadn't thought of that before... *picture Adam Lambert as Cinna* hehehehe... All my friends held the second book over my head when it cam out... so I did the same when the third one did.
