Ummm, a pink and grey scarf, gloves, and owl shaped hat set from my middle sister. Three skeleanimals and a blu ray of HP&tDHpart2 from my youngest sister. A scrubs shirt, a cast iron skillet, food processor, an Alabama snuggie (stupidest things ever, but I wasn't telling mom that), and a set of matching pot holders and dish towels from my mom and dad. A three bracelet set and some body jewels (which my inner child loves) from my sister-in-law. A 14 piece baking set from my youngest brother. And in my stocking, some tiny sweet petals body sprays and lotions, a big bottle of Nuvo (a french wine I love!! and already had two bottles of) and some little bottles of Tequila Rose and Tequila Hot Rose (which is like someone pour Tequila Rose and Hot Damn into one bottle, shook, and served....very yummy cause I love both Hot Damn and Tequila Rose). And my fiance gave me a $150 coffee maker last week before I went to my parents'. That's it so far. The fiance has more things for me to open tonight.

My family is getting much smaller now.
We tend to spend Christmas in different states.

Most of mine live in different states, but quite a few of us still get together. That reminds me. My aunt and her family made me so mad today.

My aunt's husband has two kids with his first wife and the oldest married this girl from Columbia. Now my family have met the girl twice in the 6 or 7 years they have been married and have never met her parents (while it seems veryone else know these people very well). My aunt and her family decided they did not want to come to family Christmas dinner tonight because they had the wife's parents over for Christmas. Confused out of my mind, I actually asked my mom why they didn't just bring the parents with them. Turns out my aunt and her family do not want the parents to meet my dad and his brother (which is my aunt's brother). Apparently, in front of these people, my aunt and her family are ashamed of my family and my uncle's family.....Man, did that make me mad to find out. They think they are so upper class when they are not. My cousin just happened to marry a woman from Columbia who just happens to have rich parents. I still think they got the money illegally. Like drugs and stuff. That's what Columbia is known for. Any who, I also think it is totally wrong that my aunt's family (and anyone who wants to talk to them at all) have to learn Spanish just to talk to them. They refuse to learn English even though they come here way more often than any of us go there...And heaven help us all if my cousin's kids get dirty. His wife about had a panic attack because my dad was feeding the oldest (a girl) a tomato. And then when the child wanted to play in the mud...it was like the world ended. Mom said she would wash the girl's clothes, but the wife lady wouldn't hear of it. And I can't even call the child by her first name. I can't pronounce it. I have to call her Jordan...it's just not right I tell you....it's un-American!!!

Lol, sorry, Granny. Mostly it is just my aunt (my dad's sister) being highly ashamed of my dad and his brother and not letting our families meet her stepson's wife's parents. And then I started ranting about how uppity she thinks she is and how prim her stepdaughter-in-law is. Tomatos and mud do not kill kids.

Now I understand.

Nobody should ever be ashamed of their family.

You are absolutely right. The biggest thing though is that there is no reason for it. I mean sure we can be loud and my dad likes to drink. That does not mean we ain't good people. Then there's the fact that none of us speak Spanish and they refuse to learn English but language is only a barrier if you let it be. And they probably would have had a fit if they had seen me and my brother outside in 30 degree weather bare foot shooting a basketball with a 20 guage. Good times....

My family tends to be a bit "conservative", which could be a problem.
But they are my family, right or wrong, and I love them.

My family are nothing but a bunch of backwoods redneck hicks which means we are all very laid back. It is fun like that.

Mine would classify as "redneck", except they come from the northern part of the country.
