TV is mainly background noise for me, too. But I like my background noise to be interesting. Even if I'm not concentrating on it, I know my brain is still taking it in and processing it.

I can hear a bit of both. There's some crazy ass bird that always starts screeching at night... Its not an owl or anything, so we have no idea what its problem is...

Sometimes, we can hear frogs before or after a good rain. Other than that, they main animal around here is raccoons, and they're quiet. Of course, I hear the neighbor's dog ALL the time.

My brain really can't focus on tv anyways so having it as background noise just gives me a headache sometimes. Tv does that in general.

I really wish I lived in the country again. I miss it. When I did I was always outside but its harder. People are like "go take a walk" but for me there is no desire when I am just walking around city blocks.

I lived in the country for my first 24 years. I really love living in the city. I prefer walking to stores than aimlessly walking down a road lined with trees.

I don't like the quiet at all. I've had to get used to going to sleep in silence, because my husband can't sleep with noise. It's still difficult sometimes.

The one noise in our apartment at night is the refrigerator and air conditioner. I used to sleep with music on.

I've gotten used to the refrigerator. But even it used to bother me.

Really? You like ABSOLUTE silence. My husband likes quiet, but once he's asleep NOTHING wakes him up. Small things wake me up all the time, like even people talking outside. Maybe that's why I liked sleeping to music. It drowned out little noises that wake me up otherwise.
