Hmm, might need to eat more pineapple. I like it in adult beverages.
Might have to see if I lost something. I know I am host but, it's nice to get items every now and then. Even if they do end up in a giveaway at some point. |
Ah. That makes sense. I used to eat about half of a fresh pineapple after dinner, and it would start hurting.

But yeah a lot of people actually think they are allergic to pineapple because it can make your mouth go numb, tingle and kinda sometimes leave red patches, but it's not really an allergic reaction, it's just the reaction of pineapple to our mouths and a lot of things. Lol My biology teacher was a twisted SOB and she took 4 slugs and dripped different things on them. Salt, coco-cola, lemon juice and pineapple juice. The pineapple juice and salt were almost tied. The salt was more instantaneously and the pineapple juice took a moment or two but wow. It was pretty crazy. |

Neph; to see what the different substances did to the membrane of the slug. To be honest we did catch the slugs ourselves. :P The coca-cola didn't really do much, the slug went about it's business but didn't live long after. The lemon caused him to curl up and then started bubbling a little, turned to slime over the next day or two. The salt caused him to curl and bubble up instantly. And the pineapple did the same as the lemon but then within a couple hours it reacted like the salt did. |

Well it was Biology III AP (third year advanced placement) so we did some crazy labs in there. I ended up doing a 30 page paper on the anatomy of a pig because I refused to cut one open in class. It's just not me and my thing. And anytime throughout school they wanted us to dissect anything I would just write a paper instead. |
Wow. That is a long paper. We had to do a fetal pig one year. My partner did all the cutting.

30 pages? That's not a long paper. Lol It sounds like it is but it was all double spaced yada yada. I wrote roughly 11 papers per semester between my classes all through high school. Writing papers was my favorite though. Research and laying it out and writing it. <3 |
I hate papers. I'm good at them, but I hate reading my own writing or the thought of someone else reading it. I'm so glad tomorrow is my last day of English composition. I've been writing one paper a week since the beginning of January, minus four weeks.

.___. But what was the point of the lab? Why did you guys want to learn what the different substances did to the slug's membrane? In what way was it educationally beneficial?
I enjoyed dissections. I'd much rather do a dissection than stick slugs in random substances. At least dissections are humane and actually educational. |
