HappyStarr 07-13-2010 11:48 PM

Awww! I like it! Omg Tabbouleh...

FeyonaSaibre 07-13-2010 11:54 PM

And I just got done with the toy too, but due to time constraints it is not colored. I'll also put up the answers to 8 after... at least it's partially done. As team captain I can do more than one of the Backstage ones, right?

HappyStarr 07-13-2010 11:55 PM

Ya. I believe Team Leader is permitted 2 Backstage tasks. =]

Silver Magi 07-13-2010 11:55 PM

BACKSTAGE ASSIGNMENTS:

Team Name: Gypsy.
Task #: 7.
Assignment: Opening Acts! Intermission~ Grand Finale!

Okay, for the first song, I thought it was rather quiet and soft-sounding, something
that you'd use to ease everyone into the mood of performing, with a nice beat to keep you awake.
You'll also notice I tried to keep within the 'gypsy' theme, with ethnic music, etc.
I was considering some Japanese, but hey. xD

For the second song, I decided to keep it a little more upbeat with some Russian gypsy music.
Something that would make sure everyone stayed in a happy mood
before the final acts started. I think it's also a nice beat in general, so it could continue for a few acts, too~

And for the end of the show...
Something epic for people to sway along to while the last acts were magnificently
performed around the audience. 8D
The orchestra feel just seemed perfect for the finale with all the musicians and clapping.
Which I'm sure the audience would do afterwards. ;D

Thinking back to the Japanese options, I might have gone a little more electronic with the sound, but I think it would have worked just as well.
And after this, I'm tempted to search more Russian music. D;
It's rather addictive, really.

-Takes some back to the gypsy camp-

Do Belly dancing classes cost a lot? o.o

FeyonaSaibre 07-13-2010 11:58 PM

Mine costs me $5 a class... but they're usually between 10 and 40, depending on who you go to...

BACKSTAGE ASSIGNMENTS:

Team Name:
Task #:
Assignment:Team Member : HappyStarr
Hobby : Studying languages
Description : Happystarr loves how languages sound and how words in many tongues can all mean the same. Currently, she's studying German, but many other languages she wants to learn. She thinks they sound beautiful and expressive, hoping that by learning them she can better understand the world, its cultures and people.

Team Member : Kiako
Hobby : Drawing
Description : Kiako LOVES to draw. When she's not cleaning, you can pretty much always find her in front of her computer drawing. Especially since she's the artist of a webcomic that will soon be on the internet, she HAS to keep pencils and a sketch book on her at all times.

Team Member : LaVida
Hobby : Reading
Description : LaVida really likes reading. One reason is that books are so portable. She personally prefers to read by herself and not in a group because she tends to get distracted. But she does enjoy reading a to couple of little kids at one time because she likes picture books herself.

Team Member : Silver Magi
Hobby : Dancing
Description : Silver Magi loves to go dancing. She has some friends who're really into it too. They're working on a few dances to Korean/Japanese songs for school shows this year. She loves it because it's a good way to stay in shape, and lets her cut loose to good music.

Team Member: FeyonaSaibre
Hobby : Singing
Description : Feyona really likes singing. She's been singing since before she could remember. She was in choir through most of highschool and was even in church choir. To this day she still sings everywhere. In the car, shower, to herself. She loves it very much. She only wishes that she could sing on stage again. She loves singing best when it's on stage. She misses it.

I think my mom has Castanets from spain and bells from Israel (she used to do some bellydancing once upon a time..)

And Tabbouleh is THIS haha we use it for chips. ^_^"

Siri 07-14-2010 12:08 AM

I've had Tabbouleh before! I went to a Lebanese restaurant in Paris and it was an appetizer. ;D

HappyStarr 07-14-2010 12:11 AM

Yyum! I only know one actual Lebanese restaurant in the area, and it shares the same name as a Hookah bar...so nobody knows what I'm talking about when I mention it. It's got delicious Lamb, though. And Falafel. And they serve Herbal teas and Smoothies made from fresh fruit....

I've been begging my mom to take us back...but she and my brother always overrule me for Taco Bell or McDonalds instead. T_T

Siri 07-14-2010 12:13 AM

What? Why would they prefer fast food over delicacies?

HappyStarr 07-14-2010 12:15 AM

Because my family's lazy and I'm just the "health nut" T_T Honestly, I can't help it if fast food makes me physically ill. Or, really, most junk food now. Gradually becoming anything that's become over processed. I'm gonna have to go full Organic just to make my digestive system happy.

Siri 07-14-2010 12:19 AM

I think organic is pretty much the same as the regular stuff, just more expensive. : /

I would still eat healthier foods though. ;D

Eating more fruits/veggies (real ones, not those gross canned ones), making your own soups (eww.. campbell's), etc. just tastes better and helps you feel better. Any packaged foods or hamburger-helper stuff is really bad for you. And it's so quick and easy to make your own stuff too. I know a lot of people complain, but cooking your own rice and cutting up some vegetables really doesn't take much time.

Goblin Maiden 07-14-2010 12:19 AM

Okay guys, check the front page and make sure all your stuff is up. I'll double-check the Piggybank now.

Or... later. After I eat this last piece of cheesecake. *Mai noms*

Well, I know they're mostly the same. I look at the ingredients a lot. But the organic stuff lacks the preservatives which is in most of the other food. I personally prefer to eat foods that are as close to natural as possible, if only for my own sanity.

I definitely agree. I really want to make my own foods more, and I plan to start pretty soon. Once I have a job and am away at college where my family won't go through an entire weeks' worth of groceries in two nights. -__-'' I've alwaysss wanted to make my own soups and such.

And I knoww packaged food is bad. That's what does me in over at my dad's house, since that's all they make. They rarely buy their own meat and marinate it themselves and such. Anything that might take too much time, they don't do. DX

Siri 07-14-2010 12:27 AM

I'm in college now (well, this summer I'm actually being a bum at my parents' house, lol) and I LOVE cooking. Seriously, it makes my day. I've been having so much fun experimenting with recipes, etc. ;D

I just wish I could experiment with baking. Right now, it's way too expensive, so I usually don't bake. :(

And I agree with you that it's good to stay away from preservatives. But a lot of 'organic' foods aren't quite as healthy as they make themselves out to be, so it's probably not a good idea to switch to nothing but organic food. Especially in this economy. xD;

HappyStarr 07-14-2010 12:30 AM

lol..well...I try to avoid junk food anyway. If it's cake mix, I don't care--I'll buy cheaper. But fruits and veggies I'm definitely keeping an eye out for, especially since my favorites are apparently the ones with the most pesticides in them *go figure* I know: Organic doesn't mean healthier. XD I just want to run a mini experiment to see of organic means less tummy/digestion problems. (And honestly, I just think organic milk tastes better...>.>)

Siri 07-14-2010 12:32 AM

Totally. Our family only buys organic milk. :)

Fruits and veggies should also definitely be organic, if you can. I try to buy a lot of stuff from our local farmers' market too, because it's healthier without all the preservatives. I mean, they still use all the pesticides and whatnot, but it tastes great. I think it's the preservatives that ruin it most of the time.

HappyStarr 07-14-2010 12:37 AM

ya..preservatives are icky. XP

haha I also like that organic milk usually comes in smaller cartons. When we buy regular, my mom always buys too much (3 people to finish off 2 gallons in 1 1/2 weeks? 0.o ) so it goes bad. Totalll waste of money.

Siri 07-14-2010 12:38 AM

We buy a lot, but we've got 6 people.
Do you get Oberweis? It's so good--I love their chocolate milk.

HappyStarr 07-14-2010 12:39 AM

I don't think we have that brand available. =/ We just get generic Organic. T_T

Siri 07-14-2010 12:40 AM

Oh, that's a shame. D:

HappyStarr 07-14-2010 12:41 AM

ya....it is indeed. I hope I'll be able to find more interesting stuff when I go to school. =]
