No, there seems to be some sort of heat wave going around so it's hot everywhere. XD

KatMagenta 07-10-2010 07:20 PM

Heatwaves don't usually make it to the north of England though. I'm used to year round drizzle.

sadrain 07-10-2010 07:24 PM

Well, it's not your fault, tho'. XD So, I guess they were just joking. x3

KatMagenta 07-10-2010 07:27 PM

We accuse each other of all sorts, I didn't think she thought I'd caused global warming or something. XD

Food is ready in my house, bye for now!

Fulkth 07-10-2010 07:30 PM

Hmmm...funny how all the nursery rhymes are about making the rain go away.

Hallo sadrain.

One of my friends has just accused me of making it hot. -_-

Maybe that was his/her way of saying you look hott today ;)

Omg I knowww~
It's wicked hot over in NY too T_T

sadrain 07-10-2010 07:40 PM

It's hot here, too. D:

Fulkth 07-10-2010 07:42 PM

I haven't been outside, but yesterday was 95 degrees+. DX

Emma Corrin 07-10-2010 07:48 PM

Yesterday was in the high 80s
Today it's 82 degrees F :(
It's hottt 'cause the sun beating down makes it worse T_T

I like it, but I hate it because my hair turns red and blond when in the sun :(
-natural hair color is brown with red and blond tints, but they really pop out and are visible when I've been in te sun for awhile-

KatMagenta 07-10-2010 08:41 PM

Back again!

I don't understand Fahrenheit. The papers only use it here when it goes over 100 because it sounds more exciting to say it's 100 degrees than 38°C when it happens for 10 minutes somewhere on the south coast.

Emma Corrin 07-10-2010 08:43 PM

Lolol~
I honestly don't understand Celsius XD
I can never convert it properly~

KatMagenta 07-10-2010 08:48 PM

I think a really rough guide to get Celsius to Fahrenheit is to double it and add 30 so I guess to do it in reverse you would take away 30 and half it. Usually if I'm watching the forecast I just want to know how hard it's going to be raining. XD

Emma Corrin 07-10-2010 08:56 PM

Lolol!
I always thought Celsius was 32 degrees less than Fahrenheit 'cause 0 degrees Celsius is 32 degrees Fahrenheit - or so I was told hahaha

KatMagenta 07-10-2010 09:09 PM

32°F is 0°C, but the units aren't the same size. So 33°F isn't 1°C. ^^;

Heh, me going on about numbers is probably really boring.

Emma Corrin 07-10-2010 09:49 PM

Ah haha
That would be why it never matches up then hahaha

Ehh haha
It's not that big of a deal :P
i was just confused was all haha

CrownofEblan 07-10-2010 10:15 PM

Pardon for the intrusion, but I believe the correct conversion is °C = 5/9(°F-32).

This is what happens when you have a LOT of Chemistry homework over the summer. You memorize pointless pieces of information. D:

Emma Corrin 07-10-2010 10:18 PM

Lolol~
What a random fraction!

We probably learned that in Chemistry too - but I took that my Junior year of high school - and even that my teacher hardly taught us anything xD;;
-just graduated-

M i r o 07-10-2010 10:22 PM

Bah, I hate science. > __________ >
It's even worse when they combine it into mathmatics. D|

I mean, I can do it but its annoying just like the whole adding/dividing/multiplying letters.

CrownofEblan 07-10-2010 10:25 PM

See, the deal is that I'm taking it /again/ this year (upcoming junior), in the form of AP Chemistry.

And because our teacher is so ah-mayz-ingly speshulz, we get to do the first three chapters of the textbook over the summer. Yipee! :stare:

Emma Corrin 07-10-2010 10:27 PM

Lol!
I'm quite terrible in Math/Science XD;

-

Ooo - have fun :D
The only AP course we had was AP-Bio - and it was offered every couple of years XD;

o_O;;
Yikess...
Are they long chapters or...?

CrownofEblan 07-10-2010 10:30 PM

Science math is /easy/ it's the math-math that bothers me. Like simplify (x^4)-4(x^3)y+6(x^2)(y^2)-4x(y^3)+(y^4).

Which is /easier/ than a lot of the crap I did last year. math is the /pits/.

M i r o 07-10-2010 10:32 PM

Certainly looks like it all right. xDD
There's certain kinds that I like of science and math, I just don't like the long drawn out ones like that one.

I only love the Matrixes of Algebra, personally.

@ Emma; We had AP Bio here too, I almost had to take it but didn't.
They disected a darn pig once. o _ o; It was positively gross. D|

CrownofEblan 07-10-2010 10:34 PM

The chapters aren't /that/ long. I mean they are regular textbook-sized chapters, so roughly 20-30 pages each?

Not postive exactly.

And I don't get Matricies. I /always/ get confused and label them wrong.

Emma Corrin 07-10-2010 10:36 PM

I never had to dissect anything, thank heavens. I warned my bio teacher that if we ever did that, I'm skipping or walking out and I'll fail the lab lol

-

o_O
That's long hun XD
-never reads the chapters assigned-
I think I'm going to have to start this Fall though T_T
-not happy-

Ugh - Matrices are horribleee~
I absolutely loathed calculus my 11th grade year :(
-was advanced in Math, believe it or not- xD

M i r o 07-10-2010 10:38 PM

They're not that long, no.
But they keep reoccuring throughout the whole chapters with longer and more complicated versions. xD

It gets even more wonky in the College versions. In the beginning its easy but once you move onwards, its iffy.

Matricies are just right to left addition, dividing, multiplying--they're really simple. :3
You just have to remember its just going across and not downwards. lol

It does get on your nerves when they put a lot of letters in there, too. Like the x's, a's and b's when they put 3 [ ] + [ ] - [ ]
to solve together.

@ Emma; Ahhh! I never got to Calculus. ;> . >
My brother did--Iunno how well that worked out for him, since he thinks he's the master at anything.
