lol I had no idea until Yumeko posted that.

Heck ya, Abel! English is "supposedly" the hardest to learn, because we keep screwing up our own language. So since you've got English, I bet you'd be able to get down a few more.

Refrigerator? lol.

I think the few Chinese words (mandarin?) I know are "hello", "thank you" and "pencil"

Learning languages is very challenging, but so rewarding. ^_^

As a Linguistics major, yeah....English is very, very hard to learn.

And I think I remember "pretty" because my other friend kept saying it after she was called pretty by the mom. XD

@ Biggles: I speak Mandarin. I don't particularly like the way Cantonese sounds.

Rosetta stone sounds pretty nifty :3 Has anyone seen that commercial for "my baby can read" or maybe it was "your baby can read" one of those XP It's really cool, and the babies in the commercial are really smart XP (obviously, or else they wouldn't be able to sell the program, but it's still really cool).

I was like hmm >_>; If only I had that in multiple languages when I was a kid. . . I would be . . so good at foreign languages :o ohohoh!

Definitely agree, Yumeko. Anytime I can say something correctly or remember new words, I get so happy! Ooo and I feel so proud every time there's German in a movie or song and I can understand it before reading the subtitles/translation. >D

I do, Yumeko. *nods* But people often forget, so I don't always correct people about it.

Well it's enough to get by in most places. *nods* And don't worry about it, Cardinal Biggles. *laughs softly* It doesn't irritate me that much anymore.

Interesting, HappyStarr. I'll take that into consideration.

My goal in life is to move to Japan, become fluent in Japanese, and become an English teacher in a high school there. I'll have to teach people one of the most difficult languages every day. ^_^

Abel - I think I read it during the egg hunt and just remembered it. ^_^ How are you doing this fine day?

Usuri - That sounds like fun. Do they make it many languages?

I personally believe in remembering that we all had to learn a language from the beginning anyway. So I try to just submerse myself in the language while I'm studying. It helps to have the connections there. I'm also trying to invest in some kids' books. XD

And I've seen those commercials. They're kinda funny. The chart they show has a footnote that reads "Dramatization" And they're teaching kids to read the same way you'd teach any normal kid to read, and they act so astounded. All they're really doing is starting it at an earlier age.

Lol we used to watch Muzzi in my high school German class. Those were fun..

@ Usuri: There are also those multi-linguistic preschools. I think those seem like a wonderful learning environment. I also can't help but think it would instill a certain amount of tolerance in the young'uns. Good stuff all around.

Usuri - That would be awesome if they did. I'd totally get it in a few languages if they did. xD

I'm waiting to have my own kids until I get to Japan so that they'll grow up learning both English and Japanese. I think they'll have a better start that way.

Totally. If I had kids, I'd raise them to be multilingual. Then I could learn at the same time. >D I'd have awesome kids....they'd be multilingual ninjas...

>:] Nice one Usu, be sure to share with me <3

Happystarr, really? Hmm, that makes sense too, all I know is that I'm going to be sure to start teaching my kids from an early age, that way when they start school, it will be easier on them. . . 8D

Biggles, yeah my brother was in a bilingual elementary school program but that made his English kind of weird because they had to learn Chinese and English at the same time XP not enough room in his little head *stuffs it with Jello* >:]

Hm. I don't mind if peoples' syntax and what not get mixed up. I think it adds colour to our language overall ^.^

Mellie - xD That's funny. ^_^ My Japanese messed with my English a bit when I was in high school. The teacher asked me to fix an English sentence that was apparently backwards. Well, having had Japanese class right beforehand and their structure being backwards to us, I was like "uh...fix what? It's fine the way it is." and she laughed at me. xD

XD German's only messed with my spelling. Suddenly the I before E thing gets entirely mixed up, and You start to capitalize every Noun in the Sentence. >.> And my German teacher told us how after studying in Germany, she had to write something her college English class and it was filled with run on sentences (which in German, you can kind of just go on...and on...and just use commas).
