Good thing some of my clients are just too patient. I feel awful already. I feel like Hey people, I don't... I can't anymore. Then refund. Although I feel rude.

Worse is when people who you know/close to you commission you and you can't finish... Or people you know quite well but you're not close with, they just let the trades rot because they trust you...

But what happens when the spark to draw for them goes away -dead-

Yeah, for the three of them, he bid like 20 May 2007 letters. Then when they told him he won, he was like..."Oh, I sold them. How about these commons instead?" I got the fun of helping them write up polite/mature responses to that kid.

After they said they refused to do it, he even threatened them to a moderator. Since they didn't receive anything, the moderator said they didn't do anything wrong. xD

white: awwww /pat you. of course I do feel bad LOL. the person is my friend and she told me it's ok to take as long as I need ^_____^;; she really shouldn't said that... and another thing is I am a bit scared to draw for her. she can a bit picky with the art she got. make me more conscious about the piece I do for her.

for me, I would love to hear from the artists if they don't want to do anymore. refund would be good option? maybe you can pm and talk to them about it. I'm sure they will understand.

The only thing I feel bad about is when the artist posts the picture in their gallery before showing it to me. D: It's happened several times and I've had the awkward situation of having to ask them to change hair/eye colors etc. I like the courtesy of letting the commissioner have first look since it eliminates a lot of those problems. ^^;

I plan to do that soon already.

Especially with one commission where I had so much enthusiasm and such for it... Then I lost it.

Why? I was working on it, feeling really good and all that then someone -an artist friend I met on Gaia who I now personally dislike due to greed and artificiality- saw my works and repeatedly lambasted it. Not just between the both of us -as in YM talks basically- but in public- on threads, in real life meet ups between other artists- even after I told her to stop and that I would edit it when time comes.

I got pissed when she did it for the third time and quit going to the place we were frequenting, then I was no longer able to look at the piece with love but with utter hate. It's not the piece or the commissioner's fault but -sighs-

I can't work with it properly anymore.

Then in this other commissioner's case...

I really didn't like her characters but said yes since it felt rude to be offered and stuff. Not to mention when I came up with sketch previews, it was received so well---I felt really bad if I said no. But when I was drawing for her already, I felt that everything was such a chore and there was no love/fun.

...I should really start composing those I'm sorry letters already. >______>;

Though I'm not quite sure if I should tell the person who commissioned me in the first case the dirty details of what got me upset enough not to work on the pieces anymore. It would ruin the said artist to her eyes since I'm sure that the artist in question has used her charms to be able to get her way from the client. But I'd have no proof... Unless I dig up threads. >_______>;

white: friend or not, that person shouldn't have said something like that. so rude D: it's no wonder why you would lost your motivation. she wasn't even the one that commission the piece right? but don't feel bad about it though. just work on what you think it's best ya *hugs* or if you really have trouble with it, I think you best talk to the commissioner and maybe try to work something out.

I think in the case of the work you didn't like too much, you better try to get it over with as soon as possible ^^; or maybe try to find some point that you like a bit to make it a bit enjoyable?

@Whitebeast: Ugh, that sounds yucky. D: I'm the type of person that eventually trudges through it because otherwise I guilt myself forever, but I can understand why you wouldn't want to finish it. Maybe you can refund them and draw them a simple freebie as an apology? I think it'd be nice to some sort of explanation though.

And for the second person, I know what you mean. ^^; My friend took on a commission for someone who offered a lot of gold, but she reeeally didn't like his characters. She didn't handle it the best of ways, but she basically kept putting it off until he changed his character design and he canceled the commission. XD;

I tend to like to do things with tutorial around... I am so dependant. T__T

I no longer consider her a friend though. She's too artificial. Not to mention that she's inconsistent. When that incident happened coupled with drama she caused, a lot of people who were her regulars among our circle of artist and art whores were very disappointed her in immaturity. I did everyone the favor of actually saying the exact things to pull her out of her drama since no one would. Then she left or something.

Thanks to the beauty of mules, I was able to dig up that when the topic of the old hang out came to be, she would tell people she was the victim and it was our fault.

When she switched from traditional to CG because of her tablet and enforced new rules, she basically said no to her old regulars and told them to look elsewhere since she would no longer consider them. Not even for bribes. She was now on a 'only males/bishounen' policy and her consistent regulars prior were female avatars who would give her copious amounts of gold and items just for one piece.

I don't know. I saw that as being ingrateful to an extent but then each to their own.

I'm planning a full refund somehow actually. I can't... stand working on it anymore. I've put off working on it for a year already. That's enough to say how much I... Bleh. Full refund it is. Each time I work on it though, I try to not remember and just go for it as the best as I can but... It doesn't work.

I have sent them so many previews and sketches of the works. All that was needed was inking it. But I can't. I feel I'll end up making it into graffiti in annoyance. >_____>;

Right now, I plan to just scan the stuff I've already done -still at sketch stage- for that second person and say, sorry... I can't finish them anymore.

But damn... She offered an item I couldn't refuse you see. ; ~ ; So yeah. Hence the great hesitance to say no.

@White: I'm with Mai, this artist does sound a bit familiar. o__o; I'm not too familiar with the artists on Gaia as of late, but there are some I hear about still.

And that sounds like a good idea. ^^ Just explain and apologize and they'll probably understand. If an artist did that to me and gave me what they did manage to complete, I'd be fine with it. :3

Makes me feel... I am close up to the world of artist. T__T

Ferra: if I get it right, this one.. always complain how art is expensive (she likes to buy arts as well) and how she was so poor and everything. now she charge a lot too haha. I found it to be really funny. she's really immature about a lot of other things too. I stop talking to her because of it.
