I agree - the Kenshin dub was terrible

Oh- who's going to Japan? I'm going for 2 week the end of March beginning of April - it's exciting and scary since I speak no Japanese at all :/

ToriKat 01-19-2008 01:28 AM

O_O Anna's is...very, very sexy!

@Ferra: xD I remember outtakes! Hahaha, they should actually do more of those. 8D

LennaHime 01-19-2008 01:29 AM

Lenna likes the dub of Blood +...and the FMA dub was fricking awesome...but Lenna will probably watch the subs sometime. Lenna saw the sub of the FMA movie and though it was LUV.

I HATE CENSORED DUBS with a GREAT HATREDNESS. ._. I might have watched whatever they twisted Tokyo Mew Mew into had they not made it suitable for 3 year olds and killed it DEAD. T___T

...Dubs are rarely good. I like subs better. ; ;

Especially when you know that the dubs are censored to make it more kiddie like?

HATEHATEHATEHATEHATE.

Yes...that is without a doubt the worst. I especially hated when they cut out episodes from Card Captor Sakura and gave them horrible vocal dubs and made it so the series focused more around the boy character than around the girl as it was originally intended...and they called it Cardcaptors. Yeesh!

And I AGREE 100% Ferra. Those outtakes were amazing. I loved them. Honestly, sometimes they made me laugh harder than anything in the series ever did...sad, but true.

I think that's the only reason I like the RK dub. XD I like the weird stuff they did on the side. (That and I love Shishio more than I should.)

Dystopia 01-19-2008 01:31 AM

@ White - Either would be fine. Trad sounds good to me, though.
... Die censored dubs. DIE.

@ Sia - ._. I wanna go to Japan!

@ Tori - Why thank you. xD

@ Lenna - @[email protected] I saw an episode of Mew Mew Power when I was younger. Is it better as a manga?

whitebeast 01-19-2008 01:31 AM

Megumi Hayashibara = WIN

But I heard she retired from the business when she got married? o:

So no more sexy Kenshin or amazingly quiet Rei Ayanami...

; ~ ; I wonder who they're going to seiyuu for Rei Ayanami in the remakes of Evangelion if that's the case.

ToriKat 01-19-2008 01:34 AM

...she-she retired? D: Noooo!

LennaHime 01-19-2008 01:34 AM

@Anna: I have no idea actually...I've always meant to read/watch Tokyo Mew Mew and never got around to it. It's on my list of animes to watch someday.

I have the Cardcaptor Sakura sub somewhere...but the dub made me so..SAD. T_T

Megumi Hayashibara = UBER WIN.
I know the Eva remakes are out already kind of...hmm...I wonder if they're just re-editting it or re-doing it completely...O_o; Hrmmmm...~

My Cup Of Chai 01-19-2008 01:35 AM

As much anime as I've seen, surprisingly I have only seen a couple episodes max of most of these titles you guys have been saying. xD Except for FMA, I've seen all of that. : )

mai 01-19-2008 01:36 AM

siaasgn: thank you ya! I don't really have a list so... just draw whoever ^_^; though now I'm getting rather tired and sleepy. might try to squeeze just one more before bed.

Icariana: I haven't really watch any anime with english dub. I think Thai version is bad enough lol and no need to sorry! you guys are keeping this thread alive *_*

Lenna: ;0; *throws the so called skills at Lenna*

chai: mmm cookie. though I really shouldn't be eating right now /sad

Rana: oh? I haven't checked out the gaia town yet. where the chess is. a lot of spam already :((?

Ferra: oh awesome! which part did you go :D? but I'm sure when you really go there to work, you will be good with the language (a must haha). once a life time experience!

LennaHime 01-19-2008 01:36 AM

Chai hasn't seen Fullmetal Alchemist? D: GO WATCH NOW k? XD Its pretty spiffy and can be funny but its awesome and and and *explodes*

*catches mai's mad skills...but WHOOPS...maiartskills.exe is not compatible with LennaOS v.3! XD*

Guitar Hero 01-19-2008 01:37 AM

MAI.

Your art is fricken-fantastic!

Dystopia 01-19-2008 01:38 AM

@ Lenna - I've watched the dubbed Cardcaptor only. Is the subbed better?

@ Chai - Never seen FMA.

Rananteriel 01-19-2008 01:38 AM

@ Mai

Wouldn't know, Towns don't work well for me. I tend to keep away now, heard someone had hacked in to them and are spamming the place up with friend requests

My Cup Of Chai 01-19-2008 01:38 AM

I have seen FMA, but I haven't seen all of Kenshin, or Cardcaptor, or that stuff. xD

Ferra 01-19-2008 01:39 AM

I've seen all of a number oldish animes like Bebop, Trigun, RK, FMA, .hack//Sign, Hellsing, Big O, Fruits Basket, Kikaider, etc..

I've read a small library of manga too. Back when anime/manga was just starting to get popular I was able to borrow stacks from the library each week for free. :3

::Sweeps up leftover bits of Lenna:: Gross...LOL...

siaasgn 01-19-2008 01:41 AM

I've seen bebop and we own up to episode 86 or so (wherever the manga ends) on dvd of Kenshin.

I started watching Trigun but never finished and recently I've been watching Bleach with my boyfriend

Dystopia 01-19-2008 01:41 AM

@ Chai - xD How is FMA? What's it about?

@ Ferra - I wanna watch Fruits Basket!

I went to Nagoya mostly. ^^ I stayed with a host family and attended a local college while I was there. But we made an overnight trip to Kyoto too. (It was so beautiful! o__o <3)

Well since I'll be teaching English, I won't have to be an expert at Japanese at all. But I definitely want to learn more and become more fluent, or else it'd be harder to get around.

My Cup Of Chai 01-19-2008 01:42 AM

I've downloaded .hack//sign, but I haven't watched it yet. >.<;

@ferra: What is Kikaider about? : )

I.C.A.R.I.A.N.A 01-19-2008 01:42 AM

::Is a huge Fruits Basket fan:: Ahhh...Furuba is sooo amazing. ^_^

LennaHime 01-19-2008 01:44 AM

LOL whoops, I misunderstood Chai. ^^

Lets see...Lenna has seen Sailormoon, FMA, Some cardcaptor and some kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Loveless subs, Kyou Kara Maou (until youtube killed it dead T_T),.hack/sign, .hack/the bracelet one...and some other small ones she can't remember...they were on G4 before they stopped doing anime. ^^;;;; And dun ask what mangas Lenna has read...its alot. Lenna's library didn't have much manga...Lenna's read it all already. *is swept up*

@Anna: You're the one who didn't see FMA? WATCH NOW K? XD

My friend met his wife while he was teaching english in Japan.

We're actually going over for his wedding - I believe she is from Gifu
