(not sure if this is the correct forum for this)
I've got announcments following me around which, upon clicking the dismiss button, show a page which says "Remote server or file not found." The picture of the chicken and the spork and the devil thing shows up every time I visit the home page as well.
I'm using Opera 11.5 on OS X if that's relevant.

So hopefully that's the case for you as well. My mule was experiencing the same problem on IE, but the announcement is gone now.
Oh I forgot it's an old announcement from the Mayor. Was this happening before or after this past weekend?
And I think the poster is supposed to pop up every time you visit the Home page. P:

My announcement about the server switch still pops up on my first page view, and then goes away until my next session...

Yep, it's set to do that. AsI have no idea if the switch has actually been completed yet.

The same thing is happening to me. The announcements keep following me and if I click dismiss, I get the same page problem. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Some of the announcements have disappeared, but the ones that are left don't have a dismiss button. And I really would like that announcement of me to post in the fresh meat forum to go away.Once again, I hope for all of this to be sorted out soon.

The fresh meat post announcement is not meant to have a dismiss button. It'll go away once you've made a thread in Fresh Meat, or two weeks after your join date. :)

Cherry, they mean the yellow notices, not the fresh meat banner than new people see. Something has broken with these because I can't get dismiss buttons to work, either : /
