I have recently been wishing for this to be possible. I have not seen it feedbacked so I thought I would. I think it would make it easier to find some of the things that people are wearing and that I want to buy.

I completely agree! I really wish there was a way to see a list of what people are wearing...

Well, I believe that part of the fun of an avatar community is coming up with your own unique combinations.

To have someone's equipped items all listed out is a bit like getting the secret recipe to Grandma's Apple Pie. You can enjoy the end result all you want, but I think it should be the user's decision whether or not their secrets are revealed.

If you're curious about an item, why not just ask the person?

That's true Knerd, but then that's why you could also add an opt-in option for it. I hate to say it this way...but kind of like what Gaia has. *commits ritualistic suicide for saying that*

But basically what I mean is like if they want to show their equipped clothing to help others out, then people can click a checkbox option that allows their equipped items to be shown. Those who don't just uncheck the option in their account options.

There again, it might be more complex to do that. I always err on the side of HOLY DAMN THAT'S HARD when it comes to Mene, lol.

i like sesshoumarus idea for this. sometimes i see an item and don't know where it is from and really want it to go with my outfit.

I agree with Knerd.. I wouldn't want people seeing a list of items that I have equipped. XD However, I don't mind people asking me about a particular item.

In the mean time, you could start a topic in the Item Advice/Quick Ratings forum to ask about particular items. :)

Cuz I am painfully shy about Pming people? You're actually one of the avatars I often wonder what you are layering...I mean how many belts do you have on...it looks so good...

I do like the idea about letting people choose to allow the items to be visible by other users.

I'm newish and haven't been around long enough to know all the items, and going through the shops is so sloooow. There's about 20 of each item but in different colours. x___x

That would be awesome! Obviously I'm new but I do think that would be very helpful.

I think opt-out would be a good idea if it were implemented, but I've changed my mind since my original post about whether or not to offer it

Gaia has this function, the avatar of the week, the person who won, maybe other people will go and find the person who won and steal their "recipe" and they get the 1k for changing the person who won's "recipe" by a little.

I love how people act as if building a good looking avatar is like holding the recipe for Coke...

Which kind of coke are we talking about here? 'Cause my avatar-making recipes ought to be illegal.

That aside, there was actually a pretty good argument against letting people opt-out of showing their equipped list on profiles (on Gaia, that is). It's a very effective tool for user's to find items they might not know the name of, which is rather frustrating when it's not available and counterproductive. For now, it's likely you could get assistance finding the item by asking the user or someone else, but especially as the site grows it would make more sense to have the process be more smooth/automatic.

I take great pride in my avatars, and before I eqip anything I make sure that I have it perfect. With my avatars they are like my babies and I would hate for a list on what I used to make it what is was to appear. I don't see why this is neccesary when you can just ask the users what they are wearing, no-ne here bites...much
