Yes, I think I faired better as a person as a only child than if I had had to put up with siblings. And I'm specifically thinking of younger ones here...
No they aren't too bad. I they just don't fully understand my choice, and being a sibling gives them licence to comment on it. They are actually my half-siblings, and are much older than me, so was more or less raised like an only child.
I remember distinctly in my sophomore year of high school, one of the students coming up to me before class and asking me to help them find Bangladesh on a map, as I was the "smart one in class" I was so embarrassed that I could only point out the general region. It haunted me for a quite a few years afterward.
It's just the you know, You are the younger sister, we are the older brothers, we are going to give your choices hell thing, mostly.
It's more like a punch to the stomach, when I remember something that I might not mind undoing...
That's great that Daniel is so supportive. I can think of a lot of men in my life (brothers) that just don't get it.

This... does happen. But depending where you are, people may be more supportive than other places. But you're biggest hurdle may be your family, and since you said your mom was accepting of it, you are off to a good start.
Unfortunately there aren't any "slime flats" so I'm going for the pale brown/tan ones with the green edging. I previewed them before and they looked pretty good.
Shoes, and the sparkles from holiday wreath are the next things to add. (I'm getting holiday wreath as a participation prize for something I seem to remember.) Still trying to work out which shoes though..
