    Um, Ravenclaw mostly xD If not, I can go either way when it comes to Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. I'm so not Slytherin.

    Well, the Edge Chronicles is a series broken up into three trilogies and two standalone books, the entire series spanning over 700 or so years of history. Set in the world of 'The Edge', It begins with the Quint trilogy, which follows the story of Quintinius Verginix and Maris Pallitax. The first trilogy focuses mostly on stone flight (on the Edge, airships are powered by large bouyant stones that rise when cold and sink when hot) and Sky Piracy, and on Quint's education in the great floating city of Sanctaphrax (an unusually large bouyant rock which was anchored to the rest of the world, a large city was built on it. The city is inhabited by academics, and is a place of knowledge).
    It's... A bit hard to explain, but it's basically a whole new world, inhabited by completely new species and I just thought they were awesome. I'm really bad at explaining things, but if what I've said so far appeals to you, I suggest you borrow/buy either 'Curse of the Gloamglozer' (first in the Quint Trilogy), or 'Beyond the Deepwoods' (first in the second, Twig, Trilogy. Most people seem to start with this trilogy, then go back for Quint, and then read the rest in linear order. That's also what I did) and see what you think about them, and also... If you begin with Twig, 'Beyond the Deepwoods' can be a bit hard to get into at first, but I promise you it gets better ^^;

    No, he's not scary at all! ^^ Banderbears are the most noble and kindhearted of all the Deepwoods creatures. :heart:
    They're one of the reasons I love these books so.

    I know what you mean xD There are so few real nerds at my school... And the only ones that are tend to either have no tact, or they're just sullen and moody.

    I haven't actually seen the film. *shot* But, from what I managed to read of the book, it was extremely imaginitive for the time in which it was written.

    Hm, might I suggest adding The Edge Chronicles to your list? They're reasonably Steampunk (at least, some of the later books are) and strike me as being your kind of thing 8D They're illustred, too! Almost every page'll have some kind of picture on it~

    Ooh! That sounds fun! 8D
    And, good luck with your alterior motives. :ninja:

    I had a try at H.G. Wells, I couldn't get into it... I began the Time Machine. We have a book of all off his novels 8D
    Warehouse 13 screwed with my head, though, and now I keep thinking Wells is a woman...

    I've been good, going on an Edge Chronicles and Neil Gaiman book binge ^^;
    I read eleven 300 page average books in five days...
    Yesterday I read The Graveyard Book and The Lost Barkscrolls from start to finish, and got halfway through Neverwhere...
