Haha, yeah that's the best way in my opinion. That's sort of what I do with my banners like, I don't plan what I'm gonna do (Well maybe I do a little teeny bit in my head) but then when it comes to actually making them, I just do what I feel like xD

My life began when-*record being scratched* Whoa, lets not go that far back! I was quite the different child when I was 7-8. I was very quiet and a very boring person. When I reached 9 years old, I acquired the love to doodle and paint. When I was 10, I figured out that live hiding wasn't all that good. I started hanging out with friends and doing activities at school. Once I was 13 I was quite an emotional wreck. I figured out that my girlfriends were horrible waste-cases and smoked cigarettes and were just plain whores. When I was 14, I started listening to screamo music and ended up being awfully shy and not so outgoing with everyone anymore. When I was 15 I went goth for quite some time and I hid away from people again and I lost a friend who was very close. (RIP- Jack Roddey) I am now 16 and life is all evening out! I started hanging with friends again and now I'm not goth anymore. Just ask if you want to know anymore about me.
