Dawn T "Crazy Legs" Light breaks grey n chill over my faire town. ND was having rousing thread of teen punks going berserk doing doughnuts in certain areas of town and just Behaving Badly. Cops were called but they're always too late. Last photo was the group of downcast hoods while a sheriff had his pointer finger out berating them. I hope their parents were told. They caught a clear shot of license. These are huge SUVs, too. And they were doing it near a park where kids scooter.

Mr x is out riding with Corona nabe. I've got Wally's vittles waiting in kitchen. Mr x has to hang his bike back on the wall first. This weather reminds me of the Oceanside. All dull white. Only thing missing is the fog.

Continuing on. This site doesn't keep track of your characters. I've hit the unknown limit then had to delete.

Watched Street Scene. 1931 film in Hell's Kitchen. It stars Sylvia Sydney. She's the gravely voice old lady in beetle juice in charge of other world entrance. I finished movie and when I read reviews I said, where was Sidney? I didn't recognize her at all. Shocking how young n pretty she was.

I had been wondering how long one round of my figure 8 slog is. So I counted. 16 right foot steps constitute one round. I do figure 8s or as much as a square as I can considering Mr X's avocado plant in the corner.

I got bit again by something. I don't see how it can penetrate the sticky layers of spf but it did. Kind of cool slog. Didn't need the cooling cloth.

That looks like a cute new site, lady Di!

Yesterday I was sorting some closet shelves. I didn't find the thermometer. I did find containers of jewelry. More necklaces n bracelets. Got to make more hanger holders. I don't wear jewelry if I can't access it. I have a lot of jewelry. Growing up I had two small jewelry boxes. I didn't wear rings. I didn't get pierced ears until 8th grade. And I only had a few pairs.

I ran across this soldering set and a glue gun that I bought years ago. Couldn't member what for. Now I do. I think I got them to fix jewelry. I wonder if the glue gun could fix the Gramma statue. I need to practice.

I guess I'll have to take tomorrow off to feed Wallace tho.

Oh I've been looking for a thin slogging belt for radio. I needed to know what my waist is. So I ran across a tape measure. I haven't taken my measurements in a long time. Well, my waist is 5" more than it should be. No wonder I don't feel quite comfy wearing crop top. And I'm 114# put back two. But still shouldn't account for 5" I think the further you go from high school things shift around. Your metabolism changes. This 114 is more like 124. I'll have to go lower than I thought. And guess what Mr x brought home? More cookies. Fudge striped cookies. I love anything fudge covered. He told me, I thought about you today. There's something in the box for you. Right. More pounds. Cause he's not eating these cookies.

Clem T Cloudcover has returned to our faire city, as expected. It's kind of refreshing, the air. Mr x flipping channels. There's this house that puts out free plants and cuttings. He brought back an aloe vera plant which he planted and picked up bunches of mint. Mint? That's an odd plant. He says it looks good. Even in my cooking hey day i rarely used mint. Tho i would consume the random mint or parsley at restaurants. They prob didn't wash it either.

I member washing lettuce at home. Mum told me to wash each leaf. Fine. Then i had a cooking class in high school and there was iceberg lettuce. The basketball one. They just rinsed the outer. I almost had apoplexy fit. But later i did the same. It's the loose leaf lettuce you need to wash carefully.

Well, it's an innie day today. Eyes feel crossed so ill skip desky. It'll be piddling chores. One for sure is to practice gluing. Bro brought me this small figurine that the head fell off. Sheesh. It's been sitting on my treadmill. So ive saved odd pieces of plastic. I want to practice gluing them before working on the actual statue.

Because i had a barrette that the clip fell off. I asked mr x if he could glue it. He used gorilla glue. The stuff expands and hardened into an unsightly mess. Still works but ugly. This is a figurine of a gramma. I think he has the grandpa too. If it works, ill post the pic. I think granny is brushing some piece of clothing. This glue im trying is not the gorilla one. That's only good for course repairs like on a farm. Gluing a barrel slat or something you don't care the look.

Time to start day. Mr x will make fri omelet soon. Going to drag stool to closet and sort a bit. And find that thermometer.

I smell smoke. Front doors open. No one would be using fireplace. I guess could be a bbq but i don't smell burgers.

It was another hot day yet overcast at times. I got up late and almost aborted the slog but thought I'd be cranky missing it so why don't i just git er done. So i did. Had to stop three times. This time remembered the mesh towel. I had it sitting in ice water. And no headache!

Yesterday i sorted spf station. I counted them. I have 27. I arranged them the way i like. My goal is to use down to a minimum. I have way too many. Too many 15, too. 30 is supposed to be minimum for outtings. 15 maybe good for shopping when you're not in sun long.

They reconfigured the downtown. They've blocked it off into a pedestrian mall. Restaurant dining outside and shops wares outside. Mr x was at post office on his bike and saw it.

There were both sides on ND of course. One said she wouldn't find dining with oil spots and chewing gum underfoot. Me either. Im not a fan of outdoor dining. There's always a pesky fly, my napkin blows off, the sun glares, and where am i supposed to put my purse?

Also, there's the restaurant experience. A pleasant interior, music, nice washroom. I saw one table. A dinky round one. I hate those. No room for anything. The waiters have to keep coming outside to serve you? Carrying dishes outside? How tiresome. There also is no provision for bathrooms. Are they going to prop up a porta potty? Are they going to charge normal prices? It's just a mess.

Mr xs din was kung pao chicken. He called it king pao. It was good. I went to get my chopsticks. I like to be authentic.

Gfs dad rallied and they're sending him home on hospice care. She likes that idea plus the cat can be involved.

I watched a 1953 horror movie with Jack palance. Id never seen him act. He was young here and i didn't like him.

Hump day greetings! Mr x was wearing his camel tee stating what day is it, Mike? Cooler day. I vac and polished cafe table and put stuff on it away.

Got all distracted. Gf em saying her dad is in hospital and will not make it. Her sis took an Uber from Palo alto to sacto. That had to cost lots. I've known the dad since I met gf in high school. I always called him Mr so and so. He's one of the last I call Mr. When I was helping them move a few years ago, he said for me to call him Billy or bill. It's an awkward transition moving from a kids Mr so and so to calling a grown-up by their first name. There's this one nabe in town that I knew his daughter in 7th grade or so. I always called him Mr. I am not calling him by his first name.

Anyway gfs dad did have a great life. He was a school teacher for kids. An intellectual, always reading. Went on numerous European trips. Spoke French. Gf lives with him. And their cat. What will she do by herself in sacto now? Will sis move in?

Robert urich yelling on Vegas. And Mr x turns up volume. Front door is open.Temp ramped up to 88• i slogged. It was brutal. I had to stop 3 times to lie down. It would've helped if i had brought the cooling towel but i forgot. We'd just gone thru a cooling period. Temp keeps bouncing wildly.

Today's movie was The Stork Club. 1945. A musical with Betty Hutton. I liked it. The fashions, decor. Betty is very engaging. Kind of reminds me of Lucille ball.

Boy it's stuffy in here. Im surprised i didn't get a headache. Maybe cause i kept stopping the slog.Tomorrow i stay in and want to get in my closet and find thermometer. I want to do experiments with it. Im thinking maybe when my temp goes up too high i get a headache.

I was reading aboot liberace earlier. My, he had an interesting life. Mr x saw him on ed Sullivan tonight. Liberace started out as a child prodigy. I think the guy who played lurch was prodigy, too.

I was picking movies for my next one. Was perusing the 1930s aisle. I like the 40s too. Like the clothing and decor. The 39 steps was very good but the accents slowed me up a bit. Takes more concentration to decifer an accent. This one had English, German, Scottish.

Mr x settling into watching Vegas. I may hit it and think about the movie I watched. Maybe I'm more sleepy cause I've been putting in a wee drop of kahlua with my decafe.

Exceptionally effervescent evening greetings! I'm stuffed. Mr X's din was lasagna n veg. The lasagna was vg. I also found some chocolate covered Graham crackers from lil Ernie keebler in our snack bin. I was naturally in that bag toot sweet and went to town. Ended up with high Ch. yah, yah. What else is new? All the slogging I do and I can't have a normal pig out without it affecting the Ch level.

Today watched the 39 steps. A 1935 Hitchcock film. I really liked it.

Oh, today Mr x saw an interesting thing. He said a blue jay family was outside. The mother was catching honey bees and feeding them to her young 'uns.

Today finally had a good desky day. Opened mail and got some work done. Hallelujah.

amazing as it sounds, i passed the dmv vision test. i was quite apprehensive in days leading up to it. every nite religiously doing the eye exercises. straining, straining to see, imagine, the dinky little letters. when it came time to test, i didnt even falter! i guess i could see the shapes good enough to recognize. mr x came with me. we had a 2.5 hour wait. he started grumbling part way thru the wait.

other day we were at macs. tried their new ice mocha. yum!

then yesterday hung out with bro for 5.5 hrs. he had these dumb rebate cards to redeem and he didnt need anything. so we went to walgreens, 2 cvs, and a tjs. i caught up on my shopping. we hit a macs and i tried the caramel macchiato. even better than the mocha. we got along very well. we had been estranged a long time. but now i suppose i will eventually move closer to him. he lives in san jose. not a place id like to be. maybe i can move nearby on the coast. would like some fog weather.

so i passed my big hurdle. can relax now and get back to normal. have to hire a drywall guy.

just finished a great read. about uber rich ladies and the scam perpetrated against them. a good frothy read. hey, its fall i believe! got bottle of pumpkin spice latte by starbucks. so curious to taste it.

welcome to fall! time to bring out the sweaters.

finally got back here. we had a plumbing event. on labor day mr x noticed water running off front lawn. a water main had broke. a small 2" gush was gushing out. mr x called water company who turned off water. then i called our go to plumber. a solution was to replace pipe to house. however id been wanting to replace the pipes one day. we had no hot water at bathroom sink and cold faucet was dribbling out. i knew it was a matter of time. then. we didnt have hot or warm water in washer. only cold. thats why my wash would take hours. so i decided to kill all birds with one stone. i replaced all pipes with copper. it took a total of 5 days. we had no water for 3 days. first day we used wipey dypes. 2nd day mr x warmed water jugs in sun and we bathed with a gallon of water. i helped mr x wash his hair on back lawn. i viewed the experience like camping. its doable, but im not keen on it. 3 guys were here. all spoke spanish. so i decided to learn spanish on phone app. itd be nice to be able to converse with them.

im doing eye exercises. plan on taking vision test next week. its better not doing close work, which ive done my whole life. reading way too much. better to look at scenery. i think ill continue the eye exercises.

we had really hot temps, then other day first rain of the year! it began with a thousand lightening strikes. scary, and weird for this area. it started brush fire couple towns over. also monsciour ugly was caught on film sliding his grotesquely ugly body under a residents fence. # the outrage

id been watching lovely old films, then the plumbing debacle. i have to bring in a drywall guy to patch up the holes the plumber left. already found my guy thru yelp.

back to school time, but kids already back. when did that start? and no telethon with jerry lewis. he really wanted to hit 100.

its been super hot here. sf broke record. something like 106. we were 107. i was taking 3 showers a day. would sit outside at nite for air, started watching my dvd player. watched, british intelligence, with boris karloff. such an intimidating man. it was a ww1 flick in blk/wh. got bit by mosquitos. its the gift that keeps on giving. next nite sprayed off on.

got couple more weeks for eye exercises then have to take dmv vision test. strangely enough, the pinhole glasses im using seem to help. before i couldnt see without glasses without closing an eye. now im able to read my phone without glasses. of course, i return to glasses asap.

the smoke from oregon and calif fires drifted down here. could smell it slightly. today its a strange totally overcast day, but warm.

your friendly, pink weather girl.

hi izzy! i know what you mean. its fun to read new blogs. kind of like toothpaste. if nothing to read, ill read the tube. tube tops. i thought those were the dumbest things. then my wing went out once and i couldnt finagle a bra. so had to get the tubes. so easy to put on. i have them in colors, of course. fuchsia, lime, orange.

im writing on lappy, my laptop. too onerous to text on my phone.

its been a long, hot summer. i look forward to fall temps when i can don my beloved denim jackets.

izzy, that was interesting telling of what a nuclear stress test is. what is the nuclear part? the dye? it sounds so high tech. nuclear. do you glow now:)

i need to clean my fans. some arent openable. need some kind of thin bristle brush.

a few cities over madame ugly and her spawn were spotted. search partys are out since they came down where schools are. i noticed their looks didnt improve over the summer.

did i mention mr x found a dead rat on back lawn. thankfully he disposed of it. he said it was 17" with tail. # ick

see you in september!

then i started a cary grant and rosallnd russell movie.

i made up 5 packs of indonesian ramen. made oodles of noodles. heard ramen is hot commodity in prisons. ramen wth an egg on top. # breakfast is served

i should try on my cargo shorts again. itll probably be another year till i can wear them. i sure love the pockets. i used to be a tomboy back in my tomcat days. but i grew out of it. i get more favorable responses when i dress ladylike.

We had to replace the water pipe to our house, years ago, when we had our own house. BF and a friend did the work.
A root from a tree had punctured the pipe...so the tree was felled.
The lawn never recovered from the line that had to be dug into it to access the pipe.

I bet its nice to have working water again!

OMG, the smoke from the fires drifted into Colorado so thick that it allowed one to look directly at the sun without seeing spots when looking away!
We could barely make out the shapes of the mountains through the heavy smoke.
When the sun had set and the moon had risen, the moon looked much like the sun had looked...only the sky was dark!
There was also a fire near Steamboat Springs, Colorado that grew from 2 acres to 419 acres in just a few hours...that also contributed to our smoky air.
The elderly and people with health issues are being advised to stay indoors with the doors and windows closed.
Its really kinda scary to see that much smoke in the air!

I'm glad to hear that the eye exercises and the pinhole glasses are working for you! ...I should try something like that since my aging eyes are failing fast...but I am lazy lately...maybe at another time.
