*sniffs* I'm so sorry! It just happened and I couldn't contain it! *wipes face* I cried. Repeatedly. And watched that scene in the movie a few times. Omg. The movie is so worth it just for that scene. *blows nose* I am on the last page of reading, by the way. Nearly ready to get this thread moving again!

Of course this was the song playing. Not really a sad song, but it's ... bittersweet. You can imagine Devan sitting with this worn photo album in his hands, one leg tucked under him. Sun is streaming through some curtains - it's dusty. He's staring at it. He's placed the album aside for weeks, unable to look at it.

Finally, he opens it. Closes it after seeing Kiyomi's happy expression inside. Devan looks hurt, and is about to set the photo album aside ... but takes a slow breath before opening it again. He flips through a few pictures slowly.

He can remember the way she smelled, the small quirk of her smile. There was the day they brought the kids to the springs, and another picture that showed another glimpse into the past. Devan smiles, a dull ache starting up in his chest. This was what his family once was. If the vampire could cry, his tears would be soaking the album as he slowly moves from one page to the next. Kiyomi's birthday - the prom. Their wedding. Her children, the infants looking content. He continues on, his sorrow burdened by bittersweet joy.

Finally, he reaches the end of the album. By now his quiet sobs were nearly silent, and he presses a cold hand to the picture. Gently closing the album, Devan looks out the curtained window as best he can. I'll always remember you, love. I can't forget you.

So I just watched We Bought A Zoo. There's this scene ... that made me think of Devan. It's ... the saddest thing. He's looking back at these pictures of his family, and he's dangerously close to tears. He remembers the small things, like his wife's smile and how the dog would play with them, and how the kids ran around with their mother ... so happy. He's SO close to crying. Tore my heart out of my chest, that scene did.

It made me remember that Devan will outlive all of his family. He will be able to look back one day and think of Moonbeam and Senri, of Kiyomi, of his children. My gosh. I'm all teary eyed.

Right! O__O Omg, I'm only ... like ... 11 pages from finishing. But I had to get online and reply to a ton of threads to keep everyone happy. xD

Man, we have such great stories in this one. It's fantastic. LIke ... holy crap, they're so good. I also laugh at watching how we've changed. Like ... our posts were so teeny and silly back in the beginning of the thread, then suddenly BAM. Two years later, it's fantastic. Like ... I can't believe this started 5 years ago. Seer. We're old. It's weird.

Omg I caved and started reading the whole thing. My. Freaking. Goodness. I'm hoping to be caught up soon. My favorite part is when Kiyomi and Kei are teens. Holy cow it's so precious. Asdhfjfkdksjjx

Mmmm, it's so LONG. I don't know how much of it I want to read.... It'd take days to read it all. xD Hm. I'll do some reading tonight, though. I'd like to get a post in sometime in the next few days. *nods happily*
