O_O You know what happened today??? I was playing basketball with James and Andrew at church...we were playing 21...and I won five games in a row! It was so awesome, because Andrew pretty much always wins, lol!

And that...was my randomness for the moment, lol! *flashes away*

Wow!! @_@ What a big family!

I am not close with my father's side. My father and I didn't have a decent relationship from the time I was four until my early twenties. Now it's fine, but I still don't associate with his side much. They can seem money oriented sometimes, and I don't like dealing with that type of negativity. I've never really connected with them for other reasons, too.

My mother's side of the family is fairly large, even if all of us don't make it for get-togethers (this would be mentioning the great-aunts I have that are too old to travel far, but send their love), but my father's side is huge. My paternal grandmother birthed 8 children, and you can imagine how big those families alone would be.

My maternal grandmother has two sisters, plus my maternal grandfather has several family members even if his brothers (a half brother is still alive) have passed.

That's really good to hear. Kind of refreshing actually, since it seems not many extended families do that anymore. :(

I hear you, about family. Most of my family members are also within 10 miles, no more than 20. Yet with mine, only a handful actually keep in touch, save for family get-togethers. I think I'm going to pitch an Easter get-together for my grandmother to consider this year. My grandmother, youngest aunt, mother and I tend to keep in good touch, but the other sister is often ill or busy. Phonecalls are there, but it's different.
