The Marketplace gives you data on the general pricing, so you can always look up the items there and see if there are any listed, and if not see what the average price is - that's what most people go by :3
I personally sell right away and only keep 1 to sell later - the market is so finicky and they decrease in price fairly quickly depending on the item, so it's generally better to sell when they come out, or at least that's my experience :3
A CI is a monthly item that is only out for 1 month - there are 2 per month that are released - they're limited items that can only be bought with real money - they're $2.50 each.
An EI is an event item that is only released during events such as the Christmas celebration, New Years, Valentine's Day, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, etc. as well as Menewshan Holidays that are based on the site's NPC storylines. There are generally 4-7 EIs in each set, one for each day of the event. During this time they have various games in the threads where you can win items.
NPCs also give out special items, and for various months the Auctioneer will place variations of CI parts up for auction - these are limited and sporadically released :3
If you have the extra cash, I recommend buying CIs when they're released and selling them in the market for gold - you can get anywhere from 3-5k per CI depending on the item and how much people want it :3 It's a great way to earn gold if you have the extra money! I usually buy 2 or 3 extra to sell :3
Most older CIs are pretty expensive, so until you get a good amount of money saved up for the larger items, I wouldn't ask anyone to hold it because most people aren't willing to hold for more than a week or so :3
I'd definitely ask around for prices though if you're interested in an item if it isn't already listed on the front page of their exchange shop - then you can get an idea of how much the item costs and see how far you are away from obtaining it :3
In terms of saving up money, I just recommend posting in various threads, trying to stay active, and try to max out the games every day. A lot of gold can be earned by maxing out the 250g game limit a day - it adds up fast!
Other than that, just don't give up hope while questing - it may seem like it's taking forever, but once you get the items you want it's totally worth the struggle! It also makes them more special to you because you worked so hard to get them :)
People normally add a quest list in their quest threads to keep track of all the items they want. There's also a feature where you can go through the marketplace and select items (the same way you see the average and highest sale prices) and there's the button that says "Watch This Item" when you select that, anytime you go to the marketplace, the marketplace will show you all of that item that is currently for sale on the marketplace.
Nope! Menewsha has what are called Quest Threads - if you go to the Forum page, you'll find an area for quests - all you do is go into the area, start a new thread, and make a list of everything you're currently after - then you just start checking things off as you get them!
You create your own layout and way of organizing things, so it's really up to you how to create it! I have a link to mine in my signature if you want to check mine out and see how I went about doing it - I'd also look around at the other quest threads and see what others have come up with!
In the Exchange, at the top there's a list of old CIs, EIs, special items, etc., but I don't think it's been updated in quite awhile. It'll still give you an idea of what's out there based on the really old items!
yeah, it should be 06/15. There will be an announcement about it. You won't be able to miss it. It pops up as a big bar that you have to dismiss before it goes away.
