I missed yesterday. I know you looked for my Joe pod rating. Here it is. I had a double donut pumpkin spice. It was bleh. Weak, slight after taste. Haven't had to throw out a cup but this was getting close. Gave it a C.

I was doing a 4 hour wash day. While watching the lone ranger. I kind of like westerns now. Cause they're refreshingly non tech. And no stupid cars. No traffic. No parking spaces. Dmv. Car insurance.

Tho i was dismayed because there's still larceny. Chicanery. Deceit. They had different morals then. I wonder what the food would be like. No processed stuff. Hand made bread. I bet it was good. I should look into western, old time recipes. Tho i wouldn't consider stuff like rabbit etc.

On next door a nabe said they went to opera in sf and returned to a broken into car. Discussion followed of folks experiences with break ins. Consensus is that sf has devolved into a cess pool. From its humble beginnings to ignominious present. Very sad. Enjoy sf in pictures, movies. The Hollywood version. There's a Clark gable movie i haven't seen yet but it's called San Francisco? Something about the gold rush era i think.

Im so into pbj i had to order more. Im using jif but trying skippy next. Was on Amazon's peanut butter page. There were a lot of natural ones. That doesn't appeal. My mum used to get Adam's. Has oil on top that you're supposed to stir in. I was in hs or so and saw it. I dumped out the oil! I didn't know.

I was interested in Peter pan brand but folks were mentioning some recall plus it has more sugar. So i passed. Did get a goobers. It has peanut butter and jelly stripes in the same jar. Ive been having 2 pbjs daily and was getting tired of dragging out the jars and bread. So last night i made 5 sandwiches! And cut them in half. Used the strawberry and marmalade jam. Told Mr x to help himself. This morning he had one. He warms it up in the microwave! Weird.

I'm starting to go crazy over food! Is this a weird fall thing? Cause it's not even winter yet. Maybe it's the equinox. Im getting hungrier. Usually I'm not. I was back looking at Ramen recipes. There was a scrambled egg one! I want to try a red broth next time. I think it calls for sesame or chili oil. There was a highly rated sesame oil at Amazon. Reviews mentioned the poor drippy bottle design. Oh no, we're not going thru that again. If your product doesn't have a decent container, forget it. What is with these companies? Consumers don't want to have to repackage your product no matter how good it is. We want to have the original label with the details.

Its too early to hit hay. Guess it's mocha latte time. Maybe another pbj Sam. I only got a small jar of jif. When I put my mind to something, I can take down a food product quickly. It's strawberry jam. Very clumpy. Hard to spread. Then there's jelly. That's weird. It's hard to spread jelly. You know what I mean. I think id like it less clumpy, more spreadable. Eating pbj with that sprouted bread is like swallowing a bowling bowl. Boy its heavy.

I'm reading a great new book! What was interesting is its set in burlingame ca. That's like midpoint between my town and sf. I was delighted to see the reference. They mention the main street. I'm familiar with it! Anyway, speaking of religious matters, this book starts out with the education of a boy with a very catholic mother. The rosary beads, the prayers. Going to a church school. I find it illuminating. I remember grade school where kids would head off to catechism. I didn't know what it was but felt left out I wasnt going. We have a catholic nabe who's a church goer. Theres a lot of events. I suppose. I've heard about. All kinds of get togethers. Once at college this girl brow beat me into going to her church for a holiday. I don't member if food was involved. If there was, I'd more likely go! I dragged Mr x along. He nodded off during the service. I'll have to ask him if there was food.

Today's pod was Wolfgang pucks Jamaican me crazy. I had low expectations. A designer brand with a dumb name. But it receives an A. It was mild yet strong. No dreaded after taste. It was coconut flavored and had a nice hint of that. I'll see what they offer in non flavored ones.

My 36 mocha latte pods came. Think I'll open the 4 boxes of 9 to see if it's all there. Right now I've got bros heavy huge laptop on my lap. It overheats but is keeping me warm now. The fairy calendar came too. Very cute. My present calendar is of calif s forests and such.

My current project is my desk. It's the dining room table and is totally out of control. When I go to work there, there's barely room for a Cafe cup. That's it. It's going down. It's like I can't get going on anything until I'm pressed against the wall. Half of it has egg cartons that I keep my earrings in. And other containers of jewelry. That's it. I'm removing all jewelry to a plastic bin. First I have to clean the earrings. Then polish the silver ones. Let's see when Mr x comments that the table is reappearing. We haven't been able to eat on it forever.

It'll take me some days to do this, but I'll work on it every day. Right now I'm doing it on my treadmill. Got the egg cartons all spread out. I just hate how my stuff just spreads into a big mess.

I overate tonight. Rats. I had gotten a jar of jif and mr x got some strawberry jam. I had a 2 bread pbj. With mr xs weird bread. Id like some soft bread, but he says he can't eat regular bread so gets this weird sprouted wheat bread. I suppose it may be healthier but it's heavy and grainy. Plus i had the mocha latte. Then i opened the new tjs popcorn he got. A holiday kind with dill and celery seed. Not many hard kernels but too salty.

I settled down to read my new guideposts mag. And gf did indeed get me a subscription to it. It was founded by norman Vincent peale 75 years ago. I hadn't heard that name in a while. The mag is small, like a reader's digest. Now the reason i stopped subscribing was it seemed every article was written by someone who had experienced some kind of tragedy. Blindness, disease, no leg. As a college student it was overwhelming and depressive. However, the mag now has a mix of stories. Human interest, tragedy etc. There's an article about Mr Rogers. I told mr x I'd save mag for him to read. He likes Mr Rogers. Tho mr x is on the fence about religion. When bro was here, he noticed religious statues on my desk. Gf and i had gone thru a stage. She got me a bunch of jesus statues and cross necklaces. We were watching that ewtn ? Network. Some nun who has since past. She wrote a book. Dang it i need to find that book and read it. Gf was interested in becoming catholic at the time. Then interest kind of faded away. I still like to hold a comfort cross.

I played devil's advocate with Mr x on whether God exists or not. Even tho I'm no expert. It's interesting that now he's on the fence with believing. Yet i grew up a non believer. Our family never went to church. Xmas was about presents. It had no meaning. Yet when i read in guideposts when someone says God spoke to me, my suspicious hackles rise up. God does not speak to me. I may speak to him. Sometimes i wonder if we just imagine his responses. The wwjd kind of thing. But look at how long it has lasted.

Made more mashed potatoes. I love them so much. I went 90 min on spin bike. Today's pod was copper moon French roast. Someone else rated it high. Yes, I'd give it an A. Good balanced flavor. Not too strong. Yet i wouldn't buy it again. I think im not a true Joe connoisseur. My favorite is still that mild, sweet mocha latte. Maybe i should try the lighter roasts. And i told you i got a bag of 8 o'clock 100% columbian peaks? Bulk for morning Joe. It mentions it has a winey flavor. And i guess it does. A tinge sour. But i dislike wine! So im stuck with that and the weak folgers black silk. Im mixing the two. It tamps down the winey flavor. Not ideal tho.

I was reading bidens health summary. How embarrassing to have all details known. But what stuck me is he doesn't have diabetes at all. His fasting number was like 89. Mine was 133 today. I'm not usually that high. I think it was that mocha latte plus the udon. I have to micromanage my carbs so carefully. It's a daily challenge. He said he tries to walk 7 miles daily. Wow. That's extremely admirable. I will do my hour spin more vigorously tonight.

I don't understand why folks want to work past retirement. If you don't have to. Queen Elizabeth is like 95. That's way past retirement. Most folks don't live that long. Her hubby did retire. Well he's almost 100. Those judges on the bench don't give it up either. But younger ones don't get a chance to fill their seats. Should they have a lifetime job? Even presidency is limited.

Tonight i felt snacky. I had finished the cheetohs and told mr x not to get me anymore. I can't keep eating bags of cheetohs. But i wanted something and couldn't abide notion of those hard kerneled popcorn again. And i know he had bought some tjs chocolate. Don't get me started on chocolate.

So i decided to have a gevalia mocha latte. It was exquisite! Fit the bill. Sweet, chocolatey. Only 15 gr carb. I can handle that. I had bought a 6 pod box to try. Went back to Amazon and getting 36 more pods. It's that good. It'll be my go-to dessert drink at night. I was also panicking because i hadn't gotten my 2020 calendar yet. Now gf in the past would get me a calendar. But what if she doesn't? So i found a pretty fairy land one. And i received a guideposts magazine in the mail. I think she sent me a subscription. Because she had given me a guideposts book for my birthday. It's a Christian publication. I used to subscribe to it.

I had leftover miso chicken broth so made mashed potatoes with it. Really good. Today's pod was Newman's own organic. From Paul Newman. I give it an A- almost an A.

Oh, I got 6 more smaller hair claw clips. They're half the size of the monster one I got. Works much better.

There was some robbery or such at a nearby mall. I ran the surrounding shopping centers thru my mind. When article mentioned it, I recognized it. It's a small strip mall across from Stanford University. I've been there before. I used to work at Stanford as a secretary.

What I liked is that I know this area. From San Francisco to Stanford which is in palo alto. Tho it puzzled me because the letterhead we used said Stanford CA. Stanford is an institution not a city. I've been to the malls and strip malls. I'm familiar with the colleges and names of high schools. I know the good cities. I feel comfortable here. When I think of moving to San Jose where bro lives im at odds. San Jose is a huge city. I always felt it was gangy. But there's certain good/bad areas. I don't know which they are. Like SF has good/bad areas. I lived in the boonies. Far from stores. That was why it was safer. Downtown is a whole different story. Even using the busses is risky.

Just had buncha cheetos. Today's pod was garibaldi 100% sumatran. I expected good things because i had tried their columbian and rated it A- however i was let down. I gave it a B- tasted stale, flat. Sigh. Then that miso. It's this paste that came in a plastic bag. You snip a corner and squeeze. But then you have to put it away. It filled 4 small containers and was a big pain to squeeze out. I also put the dried mushrooms in 3 zip lock bags. So im balancing 2 bags and 3 containers as i go into the garage to the freezer. Well i drop a container. The lid pops off and some falls out. That sucks. I clean the floor. Later found another piece of miso on the floor. Stupid packaging. Someone else mentioned the primitive bag. Why should i have to put it in containers. You should do it. Im not buying it again.

Made ramen today! How was it? Quite good, but udon plain would probably be good. Udon is a thick, white noodle. Lil chewy. I will rate it hard like Joe. I give it a B- I made some mistakes. I underestimated how much the dried mushrooms would hydrate. So could only use a third. But i had a lot of mushroom water. You're not supposed to dump that so i added it to broth. Broth turned out to have a strong mushroom flavor. But i really messed up the soft egg. It said 6 min is perfect. Not for mine. Wasn't cooked and hard to get shell off. You're supposed to slice it as decoration. Not possible. I added it back to broth to cook and put it in mr xs bowl. He liked it.

Well it was a fun meal. It made 6 servings. We have 2 more bowls each to eat. I added lil instant potato to thicken broth. Also some balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I cut mine with brown rice. Going to look for different styles of noodles. And more hints to make broth better. I want an A ramen.

amazing as it sounds, i passed the dmv vision test. i was quite apprehensive in days leading up to it. every nite religiously doing the eye exercises. straining, straining to see, imagine, the dinky little letters. when it came time to test, i didnt even falter! i guess i could see the shapes good enough to recognize. mr x came with me. we had a 2.5 hour wait. he started grumbling part way thru the wait.

other day we were at macs. tried their new ice mocha. yum!

then yesterday hung out with bro for 5.5 hrs. he had these dumb rebate cards to redeem and he didnt need anything. so we went to walgreens, 2 cvs, and a tjs. i caught up on my shopping. we hit a macs and i tried the caramel macchiato. even better than the mocha. we got along very well. we had been estranged a long time. but now i suppose i will eventually move closer to him. he lives in san jose. not a place id like to be. maybe i can move nearby on the coast. would like some fog weather.

so i passed my big hurdle. can relax now and get back to normal. have to hire a drywall guy.

just finished a great read. about uber rich ladies and the scam perpetrated against them. a good frothy read. hey, its fall i believe! got bottle of pumpkin spice latte by starbucks. so curious to taste it.

welcome to fall! time to bring out the sweaters.

finally got back here. we had a plumbing event. on labor day mr x noticed water running off front lawn. a water main had broke. a small 2" gush was gushing out. mr x called water company who turned off water. then i called our go to plumber. a solution was to replace pipe to house. however id been wanting to replace the pipes one day. we had no hot water at bathroom sink and cold faucet was dribbling out. i knew it was a matter of time. then. we didnt have hot or warm water in washer. only cold. thats why my wash would take hours. so i decided to kill all birds with one stone. i replaced all pipes with copper. it took a total of 5 days. we had no water for 3 days. first day we used wipey dypes. 2nd day mr x warmed water jugs in sun and we bathed with a gallon of water. i helped mr x wash his hair on back lawn. i viewed the experience like camping. its doable, but im not keen on it. 3 guys were here. all spoke spanish. so i decided to learn spanish on phone app. itd be nice to be able to converse with them.

im doing eye exercises. plan on taking vision test next week. its better not doing close work, which ive done my whole life. reading way too much. better to look at scenery. i think ill continue the eye exercises.

we had really hot temps, then other day first rain of the year! it began with a thousand lightening strikes. scary, and weird for this area. it started brush fire couple towns over. also monsciour ugly was caught on film sliding his grotesquely ugly body under a residents fence. # the outrage

id been watching lovely old films, then the plumbing debacle. i have to bring in a drywall guy to patch up the holes the plumber left. already found my guy thru yelp.

back to school time, but kids already back. when did that start? and no telethon with jerry lewis. he really wanted to hit 100.

its been super hot here. sf broke record. something like 106. we were 107. i was taking 3 showers a day. would sit outside at nite for air, started watching my dvd player. watched, british intelligence, with boris karloff. such an intimidating man. it was a ww1 flick in blk/wh. got bit by mosquitos. its the gift that keeps on giving. next nite sprayed off on.

got couple more weeks for eye exercises then have to take dmv vision test. strangely enough, the pinhole glasses im using seem to help. before i couldnt see without glasses without closing an eye. now im able to read my phone without glasses. of course, i return to glasses asap.

the smoke from oregon and calif fires drifted down here. could smell it slightly. today its a strange totally overcast day, but warm.

your friendly, pink weather girl.

hi izzy! i know what you mean. its fun to read new blogs. kind of like toothpaste. if nothing to read, ill read the tube. tube tops. i thought those were the dumbest things. then my wing went out once and i couldnt finagle a bra. so had to get the tubes. so easy to put on. i have them in colors, of course. fuchsia, lime, orange.

im writing on lappy, my laptop. too onerous to text on my phone.

its been a long, hot summer. i look forward to fall temps when i can don my beloved denim jackets.

izzy, that was interesting telling of what a nuclear stress test is. what is the nuclear part? the dye? it sounds so high tech. nuclear. do you glow now:)

i need to clean my fans. some arent openable. need some kind of thin bristle brush.

a few cities over madame ugly and her spawn were spotted. search partys are out since they came down where schools are. i noticed their looks didnt improve over the summer.

did i mention mr x found a dead rat on back lawn. thankfully he disposed of it. he said it was 17" with tail. # ick

see you in september!

my newest project is trying to buy glasses ol.

last nights movie was a doris day musical. she can really dance. and tap. that is an odd dance move. the guy was doing it on a staircase. itd be kind of neat to suddenly break into a tap dance.

then i started a cary grant and rosallnd russell movie.

i made up 5 packs of indonesian ramen. made oodles of noodles. heard ramen is hot commodity in prisons. ramen wth an egg on top. # breakfast is served

i should try on my cargo shorts again. itll probably be another year till i can wear them. i sure love the pockets. i used to be a tomboy back in my tomcat days. but i grew out of it. i get more favorable responses when i dress ladylike.

We had to replace the water pipe to our house, years ago, when we had our own house. BF and a friend did the work.
A root from a tree had punctured the pipe...so the tree was felled.
The lawn never recovered from the line that had to be dug into it to access the pipe.

I bet its nice to have working water again!

OMG, the smoke from the fires drifted into Colorado so thick that it allowed one to look directly at the sun without seeing spots when looking away!
We could barely make out the shapes of the mountains through the heavy smoke.
When the sun had set and the moon had risen, the moon looked much like the sun had looked...only the sky was dark!
There was also a fire near Steamboat Springs, Colorado that grew from 2 acres to 419 acres in just a few hours...that also contributed to our smoky air.
The elderly and people with health issues are being advised to stay indoors with the doors and windows closed.
Its really kinda scary to see that much smoke in the air!

I'm glad to hear that the eye exercises and the pinhole glasses are working for you! ...I should try something like that since my aging eyes are failing fast...but I am lazy lately...maybe at another time.
