Search of the Water Spirit
This is slightly based off the concept from Avatar the last air bender about the Koi fish who represented the Moon and the Ocean. The spirit had made themselves known to the humans and started leaving with them. They followed three spirit leaders, the Sun, the Moon and the Ocean. The Moon and the Ocean are married in human terms and are the ones who help the humans a lot. The Sun Spirit is the eldest of the three and the other brother of the Moon. But, anyways, human males often confessed their love for the Moon Spirit since she was described to be very, very beautiful and each time, she turned them down. One day, one of the humans she turns down becomes angry and seeks revenge on her. While she was with her husband, the Moon Spirit was killed by the human with an enchanted sword. Enraged, the Ocean Spirit retaliates and hides all the water, since the Moon and Ocean gave up their immortality, she wasn't coming back to life. Centuries go by and people are trying to survive, the spirits are still trying to keep the remaining humans alive and such. Of course, there have been reports that the Moon Spirit had been reincarnated as a human, but it's only be rumored.
