Well, I'm only thinking of going for a few days. There is(?) a Tumblr Monty Python fandom meet-up planned. So I would want to go to that. I don't think a date was set.

Oh man, do I hear you on that. I'm currently in a museum studies program (I see I mentioned it below), which wraps up in June. Just about to start the internship part of it, and I plan to network like crazy. I need to hit the ground running as soon as I can, for my life and my sanity.

I just hope I don't have to start any work I get in early July. I got tickets to the Monty Python show :3

This came out recently: 65 Things You Need To Know About The Mythology Of "The X-Files" It's pretty good, considering it's buzzfeed and all.

I think Duchovny and Anderson did an AMA on reddit recently? Not a big fan of reddit, but those usually are decent.

You mean the Christmas episode of Shop of Stuff? Yeah, it had some moments, but the series was by far the better component. Give that a try if you haven't.

Oh yeah! I go on X-Files binges every once and a while with netflix. Though everytime I do I seem to have less and less choice. I tend to avoid the last two seasons, and if they are a part of a longer narrative, I usually end up skipping over them as well. I want something short and sweet before I go to bed. So it usually ends up being the monster of the week episodes. But there are only so many of those...

The Pre-Raphelites are 19th century I'm sure you know Millais Ophelia, at the Tate.
    I'm in Museum Sciences.

The name Yonderland sounds familiar, but I may be confusing it for something else, like a comedy project another group was getting off the ground.

I was super excited because when I went onto netflix over there, I found out that the Bleak Old Shop of Stuff was available for steaming. I loved it. Must have watched it through four times (instead of socializing, oops)

Oxford was pretty fantastic! It was a summer program on the Pre-Raphaelites. I was the only one in the class, so it ended up rather laid back.

Hopefully Harmon can breathe some life back into it.
Yes, I've seen clips of it HH. I think I've reblogged the occasional thing to my tumblr too.

I became a mod at the beginning of last year Seems longer though.

I agree, the format wasn't my favorite. I don't know if me watching it when I was distracted, and in bursts (I was in Oxford for a summer program, did you know?) helped any, but it was a strange experience. A lot of the whimsy went out of it as well. It had a harder edge. Which is arguably interesting, but also a little, well, souring. I thought some of the episodes had something though. The Tobias ones about 2/3 of the way through had some magic, though they had a bit of that unpleasantness as well. At least they introduced some worthwhile new characters. But they didn't get to shine, what with the tone and the format.

The wagon jolted on ... I don't think I was homesick. If we never arrived anywhere, it did not matter. Between the earth and that sky I felt erased, blotted out. I did not say my prayers that night: here, I felt, what would be would be.

May 2007.

Bush was President. Blair was PM. Sarkozy newly elected.

You were 3 years younger.

I was 15, stomping angrily and adolescently about.

Then I joined Mene, and became even more of a recluse.

Happy 3rd anniversary, me.

So we watched Disney's Peter Pan in Psychology to examine the media's influence on gender roles. (Wendy = Mother etc etc)
Not only did it portray Injuns (Native Americans) very racistly, but it made me think about my uncertain future.

It's a scary time.
Waiters are offering me wine lists.
Employees in petrol station shops are asking me if I'm buying petrol.
My drinks are no longer served with straws. T_T

I'm only 17! I don't want to be an adult.
I turn 18 in June, and in September I'm off to university... I've never even had a part time job. :gonk:

Plus, I thought I looked 14. >.>

Lol, I have a massive forehead and my side fringe (side... bangs?) looks like a comb-over. xD

I had to answer this essay question:
"How does Hardy present the supernatural in his poetry?"

Now, I picked out a couple of poems about ghosts, and the dead talking, as well as a poem where he talks to God.

The teacher sternly said to me, clearly not impressed, that "religion does not count as the supernatural."
I shrugged, and reported the verdict back to my atheist family and we all had a good, cynical laugh. xD

There was chaos at my school's bus station today. One of the buses had accidentally reversed into a hedge and got stuck.

In other news:

- re-reading my old diaries freshened some horrid memories :(
- I can't wait to see my favourite comedian of many years live for the first time (Bill Bailey) :boogie:
- I want an Obama thong. :eager:

Nice. Sounds like something I'd do just to piss off a teacher I didn't like.

I'm going through the same quarter-life crisis. I'm 17 now and I definitely don't feel like getting a job and joining the real world yet. I know exactly how you feel.
