No prob! Like I said before, I don't get a lot of opportunities to talk with people in English these days, so I'm more than happy to chat about anything.

I agree that hearing about different cultures and walks of life is interesting. I took a bunch of anthropology classes and I would have been interested in a career in that field if I thought I had a future in it. I think it's better as a hobby.
But keep in mind these are only my opinions and I've only experienced a small sliver of "the Japan experience" largely concentrated in just one geographic area and I have my own sets of biases. So unlike that video guy, I wouldn't say you should take my word for it.
Everyone has their own impressions of Japan that vary dramatically depending on your personality, language ability, location, age, gender, ethnicity, etc.
Anything I say, even if I forget to preface it with a disclaimer, should be taken with a grain of salt. But I'm happy to provide an extra perspective where it's wanted.
