I have heard of the book 1984. I only knew about it because David Bowie tried to make a soundtrack for the movie. I believe his Diamond Dogs album is pretty much still based off of 1984, though.

As for V for Vendetta, I wish I could have seen the beginning of the movie. That's the problem with catching things on the tele. I know I'll eventually be getting another paycheck, so I don't think it would hurt to spend a little on the movie. At the end I was kind of like "TAKE HIS MASK OFF HE'S DEAD NOW i WANNA SEE!" but then again I also like how Evie respected his anonymity and left it on. I'm such a sucker for romance sometimes.
