As a matter of fact, Wolfie DOES know what it feels like to feel useless to your family. Her family needed her, so she stopped going to school. Even now, Wolfie still lives with her mother and stepdad at 22 years old, because they need her. She is trying to find a job to help them pay for food, and to make sure her family doesn't end up homeless again. Yes, again. Wolfie had four younger siblings, the oldest of which is only 14. The youngest is 7. As for substance abuse, Wolfie's extended family (great grandparents) has a history of alcoholism, which makes it far more likely that Wolfie will end up an alcoholic. Wolfie is also on medication for her depression and anxiety. Once, Wolfie got really sick and couldn't keep anything down, including her pills. Three days later, when she still hadn't taken her pills, the withdrawal actually made her even more sick.
Wolfie's biological father committed suicide the very night he found out her mother was pregnant. It was an accident, they weren't married, but there it was. Wolfie's mother always says "He did not kill himself because of you. He was sick, and didn't get help." But Wolfie has had to live her whole life with the shadow of her father's suicide hanging over her. Friends of her father, and his family, are constantly saying how Wolfie looks exactly like him. Wolfie has spent her whole life trying to escape that, to gain her own identity, not just "Tim's daughter." She still has trouble with it.
