That was just an example. I already have an RP using that plot. I was just using it to show you how big an idea can be in the pokemon fandom.

I think you're thinking a little too small. For instance, I have a plot or two going where team rocket took over Silph Co without anyone realizing and started experiments to create super trainers who had affinites to one pokemon type each, intending to have them take over the gyms and eventually help team rocket take over the region. Sound interesting?
