Hmm well Visual Novels are like "choose your own adventure" stories. The readers (players) get choices and their choice decisions effects the game and ultimately the ending. Visual novel makers (I'm an amateur) create these games by editing stories, adding characters, storylines, and music to this games for the players to get a better understanding and enjoy the story :D
