It's fine. :) But the thread wasn't in the debate forum, so I wasn't looking for a debate. That's all.

East and Southeast Asia were my areas of study at my uni, so I also find it interesting. If you haven't read it already, The Political Systems of Highland Burma by Edmund Leech will probably be required reading if/when you study ethnography. His study is another example of a society that doesn't quite fit into theories posed at the time (granted he wrote it quite some time ago). I find those sorts of conundrums quite fascinating. :)
