Happy Birthday, Vox! I've no idea what kind of cake you would like, but this looked festive enough for the occasion. Can always scrape off the frosting? :)
Heh, I knew that feeling actually. I hate most cities (with Boston and the surrounding are being the exception), and I didn't much relish the idea of moving here, but I'm a little over a month in and it feels like the most natural thing in the world. I think it's probably good for me, since I had a tendency to stay inside for fear of running into lots of people in the past. Here, there are so many people they're like scenery, and it's made me a hell of a lot more comfortable around folks.
Yeah, the kids are great. I'm generally left exhausted in the best of ways come the end of the day. It's been doing wonders for my insomnia. I've been making it to bed before 1am fairly regularly.
I'm living in the city now. Got a new job, new apartment, and a new kitten. Apparently when I make a bid for change, I go big and change ALL OF THE THINGS!
Had a bit of a weird spell where my back and neck locked up and spasmed so badly that I ended up in the hospital, but I have since recovered. Wish I knew what had caused it.
I'm currently catching up on various animes and working full time as a teacher at a preschool/daycare. It's the oddest mix of fun, rewarding, and stressful as all hell. I must say though, I miss academia something fierce, and i won't be able to keep away from graduate school forever.
