Underneath the Home, Forum, Shops, Games, and Contribute tabs, there are smaller categories. The 5th one over is labeled as 'trades'. Click on that and type in the person's name you want to trade with. If you want to just trade gold, first put an item in the trade, then take it out. Afterwards, you can put the gold amount you want in there. :] If you just want to trade an item, put that in there.

If you go to "edit your friend list" right below your friend list, underneath your friends there should be a place where it has something you can type in, it says "Add a Member to Your List... "and it lets you add other friends as long as you know their username. :]
