Haha alrighty. Well you know, I think Cassatt was American. I think you should also check out J Whistler's "nocturne" (blue and gold something bridge, I forget the whole title). If you want a little USA history, then you might like George Caitlin. Though her paintings are a little bit later, I love Georgia O'Keeffe. Any help at all?

If you're into a little more different, I suggest Alexander Calder. He was a 3D sculpture artist.
