Thank you! I really appreciated waking up to that this morning. The argument just got out of hand - and it was all just people nit-picking at things that weren't even on topic!
I guess all that we can do is try to inform people as best we can and move on if they don't agree with us. :]
It is, I certainly would admit that of psychology. There are some sub fields that bore the shit out of me. So I do see your point. I'm probably more generous due to my very basic knowledge of Anthropology.
It was origionally a sub-field of economics and it does still very much have a strong economical background. Marketing is very strongly similar but there are also many differences. And Yes International Relations does come up often as well.
I'm studying part-time. Working towards a B.A. with a double major in politics and social anthropology with a minor in development studies. Finally getting the hang of it. Really love my majors and minor. Which is reflected in my book collection. One day I promise to get around to reading it! Although my studies tend to provide me motivation. As of now taking a class on ritual and Belief, so I am reading a few related books on the side.
