our school have a strike on tomorrow, that is the second time in this year now, i wonder what the teachers are thinking, they already got all the benefit that other occupation would never have, but still complain how less they get paid and how tired they are. i mean seriously, a teacher going home at 3 o' clock everyday , have 4 times holidays in a year, so what else could they ask for.

The result for my half yearly exams finally came out, and i'm not happy with any of them, not even math - my favorite subject, i was pretty depressed by that, because when i'm year 10, i can get a fairly good mark without trying very hard, but this year, i think i tried, maybe not the hardest i can, but i expect it to be the same with before, but certainly it didn't happen :(

I've got to agree,
Both of my best friend's parents are math teachers at our old high school,
And, when I took her dad's class,
He was usually there at 7/7:15,
And, he doesn't leave usually until 4:30/5.
They put in soo much extra time that it's not even funny.

Both he && his wife 5 classes,
So they put in at least 5 hours,
And any extra time students arrange with them,
Including their lunches && breaks.
On their free time,
Especially since they are IB teachers,
They grade constantly,
Have to go to conferences to learn how to be an IB teacher,
Host study parties,
And, put a tremendous amount of effort into the clubs they run.

Honestly,
I think that's part of the reason why they're assholes.
They're overworked.
It's sad to say that all of that is expected of them too.

As RaytheDragon said, not all teachers work school hours. Actually, hardly any do. Those ones that get there at 9, and leave at 3 probably aren't that good.
They usually have the choice of getting there at 6 or 7 in the morning and going home at the end of school, or getting there a bit before the start, and going home at 5 or 6 (usually later).
They aren't payed over time for this at all.
Plus they have the 'at home work' they do.

Plussss, this strike isn't over pay. It's actually more to benefit the student. The teachers are striking against a change in the way teachers are place in schools. The government wants to change it in a way that a lot of 'unattrative' schools wont get decent teachers.

Anyway, think it lucky.
I'm year 12, and so very thankful for any break I get...even if we are a bit behind in our English course work because of it.

Well, actually, not all teachers go home when the students do. Some of the teachers at my school don't go home until 7 or 8. & Teachers are underpaid. There is a lot of work that they do & don't get paid for...
