You took a break at the right time, I've been.... slacking lately. Caught that awful cold thats going around, after a week of covering for my co-workers who had it!

Sounds very interesting. It might be easier to deceive if you can tell everybody different things. Though, since I imagine there would also be a public forum, lies like that might come out. But then again someone could always be lying about what someone else told them in a PM and ughhhh so confusing... LET'S DO IT!
Roleplaying as your actual character would work if you don't make the characters too obviously good or evil based on their names and stories. And oh god the secret alliances thing sounds soooo insane. I don't know how I feel about that yet because I can't fathom what it would be like. o__o I'd be willing to try it though!
I have some ideas of things to do differently as well, from reading through a few games on mafiascum.net. I'd love to help you brainstorm (although I also want to play your game, so no spoilers xD).
I really hope we will be able to arrange another game. I think many people unfortunately did not enjoy that one, but it was a learning experience for all of us, and now that we all know a little more aggression is a good thing, I'm confident we'd have more fun if we played another. :)
I'm just having a lot of mixed feelings right now. Especially when I see him posting on facebook like nothing happened and the past two years meant nothing to him. But then I think about me being upset and I shouldn't be. I wanted this to end, but I guess I never realized how little he actually cared...that's the part that hurts.
