I know Krista very well, and I don't think there'll be much of an issue with me capturing her well. I guess you could say I'm pretty self-critical and am always questioning everything I do and, with this, everything I write. I just don't want to screw it up, and, I've never done anything like this before.
She doesn't live that far - about two towns over. She's basically my best friend. I used to live down the street from her, but I just graduated and have moved out of my parents' house and in with my grandparents. I haven't seen her in a few weeks.
It's not that the things I might write might upset her, I just try my hardest to make sure that I capture her personality perfectly. I've never written real-life people as characters in anything before, and I want to make sure I get it right. Writing Hikari for Dagger isn't as deep or hard because it's not from her point of view.
I'm being very careful with Kaoru's character. She IS Krista after all. They are one and the same, so I must make sure they are treated as such. As such, I've wanted to call Krista and read her what I've written so far (she doesn't have internet), and ask her thoughts and critiques on how I've depicted her, but I haven't had the chance to yet. She's been busy lately and I could've called her today if her heart hadn't been broken today... :( Poor Kao-chan...
Oh my god, I love your avi! Lol, I just saw that on "What Song Are You Currently Listening To," and I thought 'WOW!' So I thought I'd mention it. Lol, sorry for my randomness. : P
Lol, Twilight. Don't worry, Krista hates Twilight as much as you do, so there's NO WAY I'd make Kaoru all sparkly(though, honestly, I don't mind the books Eclipse and Breaking Dawn though. Twilight was ohkay, and I hated New Moon. I haven't wanted to watch any of the movies).
Actually, though her vampirism is such a focal point, there's not a lot, vampire-wise that really applies to her.
-She's unaffected at all by sunlight
-She has no heightened senses
-She has no superstrength or superspeed
-She can't transform into a bat or anything else
She just needs blood to survive, is undead/immortal, has retractable fangs, and doesn't age. Those are the only things that make her a vampire in any way. She's also a Black Mage, though, as you'll find out later in the story.
Also, contrary to most vampire myths(and you may or may not have figured this out already), Kaoru needs to feed about as often as humans need to eat (two to three times a day). Actually, I stated that in Chapter 2. >.> Nevermind.
Also, if you have any ideas for my story at the moment, I'm all ears. :) Even if you think they're ridiculous, I'd love to hear them. I like to see what a lot of people think, because I know not everyone thinks like I do, and there may be a very interesting idea that I haven't thought of.
Lol. I'm gonna have her struggle with it on and off all through the story, too. I'm gonna depict her feeding off Hikari at least one more time, as well as Mene at least once. Her being a vampire is going to be very central to the story.
What do you think of Kaoru? I like the idea of her having to feed off us sometimes. Krista liked the idea, too, so long as I made it clear that Kaoru HATES doing it, because she would hate doing it too. I told her I would, and I'm a little worried I might have made it TOO clear and overstated the point. But those are both her children and her best/only friends! I'd hate it, too!
