1: Although Ivan is a powerful and fearless man, his little sister has started stalking him and leaving creepy gifts. Could go as far as serial killerdom. As in, ‘look what I did for you. I’ll kill your enemies for you. I’ll kill your boyfriends for me and I’ll leave the gifts on your doorstep.’ Or could just be stalker behavior. Terrified, Ivan hires an American bodyguard to protect him from her. Or I suppose it could work if Alfred was a cop investigating Natalia, but I like keeping them very close with the bodyguard thing.
2: america pulls Russia aside wanting to ask a question in private. Russia is patient, not particularly concerned until he hears what america has to say. "So...I need a little personal favor. How do you feel about dating me? I mean, for pretend of course!" He's trying to avoid someone's unwanted attention, or just wants an excuse not to date at all. It's all up in the air. But why Russia? Simply because he hates america (or at least according do him). Who else better to keep the relationship from getting real? And that is how they become fake boyfriends.

1: A miserable Arthur cannot stand his love life, or lack thereof, and decides to create a spell that will fix everything. He doesn't plan it well and what should have brought him perfect love brings him...Francis, the perfect man. The perfect man he didn't want because this should not be his idea of perfect. There's no getting rid of his own spell though!
