Well, I don't know about the louder bark... I'm guessing that it's a good sign, because it means he's feeling stronger. But it's definitely great that he's been able to keep fluids down... that's definitely the most important part! : )

I'm sorry to hear that it's Parvo. But the good thing is that you're treating it now, so there's a much better chance that things will work out for you guys. It's weird that your regular veterinarian was unable to correctly diagnose your puppy--something doesn't seem right. Parvo is so common that your vet should have been able to identify the symptoms and/or at least suspect that it might be the culprit. : /

I would write an online review or something--let others know that he needs to get his act together. People make mistakes, but I think this vet should have been more careful.

It's so great that you guys have pit bulls--they're very sweet dogs that are too often overlooked because of their bad reputation (which is totally undeserved!)

Anyway, I'm just commenting because I was wondering--is your puppy feeling any better today?

Sorry, I don't quite know what you mean by bloated skin and bone state going down...

Either way, you should just tell your veterinarian everything that you've been noticing and he or she will be able to recommend the best course of action. I'm just a pre-veterinary student, so I don't really know much yet, but your vet will have years of training so just follow any advice you've been given. :)

Also... I just thought of this, but it might be a good idea to keep your puppy separated from all of your other pets, just in case. You don't want to spread his disease and have even more to worry about! If it's parvo, it would be a good idea to keep him isolated since parvo is very contagious and difficult to remove from your home (I think it takes some serious bleaching to disinfect contaminated areas).

Ah, I see then. It's good that you're taking him to the vet--if it is parvo (your worst case scenario), quick veterinary intervention will probably be your puppy's best bet. And if it's not, then hopefully you'll find out exactly what's causing all of his problems.

I feel so bad for your parents too--it seems like they're so worried as well! Don't beat yourselves up over this though... it certainly isn't your fault that your puppy's sick and you're clearly doing everything possible to help your dog.

So again, good luck and I hope everything turns out okay.

Well, it's really good that he's drinking water, at least. I think that's the biggest problem with most parvo cases--dehydration coupled with vomiting and diarrhea. But if your puppy keeps drinking, he should be able to combat those awful side effects. And you've been giving him extra fluids too, right (with the needle under his skin)?

And sorry, you might have mentioned this earlier, but how long has he been sick already? I know parvo is a very serious disease, but the chances for survival increase if he's been able to fight it off for several days. Either way, I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

I just read about your little puppy while lurking around the avatar chat forum.
I hope he gets better soon! Keep me updated, okay? :)

Why hello blog I have ignored for so long!

I would just like to say today is a good day for me on Menewsha. The new increase of new users is great and I am happy to see the activity. It has been a while. It has been a while since I have met new users who I have chatted with for a while, rather than just a few posts. I have also met some people I recognized from other sites but never really talked to until now.

I honestly think I posted more today than i have in a while and it feels good and exciting. I hope the increase in users and activity stays.

We also got new mods today which is also good news. Though i am sad some of the older mods have left their positions. Oh well. ^^ Alls well is ends well.

New person to add to the list I had from a previous blog named "Is it the Year of Death or something?"

A couple of days ago, a family friend died so, for September:
Ronald S.- Age 47; died on September 14, 2008 in his sleep.

I grew up with his son and daughther, and have known him since I was three. So yeah...The year on death continues on....

On a lighter note, I will try to start being more active again. Lately it hasn't been because of school, but instead monopoly and star ocean. xD

o.o;; I also got a cell phone. My dad said I was asking my sister about it( and her plan) and since he got 2 free phones when he switched plans, he got me one. o.0;; It wasn't really that I wanted a phone, but I just about needed one, espicially because of the sucky transportation from tech to my highschool, particulary on test days. I need something to use to contact for a ride. XD
But Yeah....I hate talking on the phones and crap. That is probably the only reason why he put me on the plan: My phone conversations average is 25 secounds. xD I won't be running up a phone bill.

You know, it is pretty sad that I had to just contact my local board of education about book distribution. For some dumb reason, they decided to replace almost all the books for every grade level THIS year. And even dumber, they started with kindergarten, not the high schools. In elementary school, you do not really need a book. I believe that the high schools should be top priority, espicially since my county has two of the top 3 high schools in my state. And if not the high schools, you should at least give us our AP books. But no. We are four weeks into the school year and I still haven't gotten my AP physics book, and my class knows that our teacher has been on their case about it.

This is the message I sent:
To whom it may concern:
I am Amber ---------, a senior at ------------- Magnet School. For the last four weeks, my A.P. Physic’s class has been awaiting our books. The lack of a book has been hindering our studies, and although Mr. ------ is doing everything in his power to keep us from getting behind, I believe that it will be inevitable if we do not receive our books soon, considering that I learned in previous AP classes that the first day you are back you are already two weeks behind.
I understand that the --------- Board of Education is doing everything in its power to get all the newly ordered books distributed to all the schools in the county. However, as a graduating high school student of 2009 on the engineering track at ----------, which requires 5 math and 5 science classes, I would like to be given the best chance possible to pass and receive sufficient credit for this advanced placement class. Our physics class is fairly small, with 9 or 10 students. So, if it is not too much of a hindrance, it would be much appreciated if it could be arranged for those books transported to our school as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Amber------
(some things blanked out for privacy reasons, plus I edited before sending. xD This is just the message I copy and pasted from word into my email.)

And I sent that to the director of special schools, who was my sister's principal at my schools rival magnet school. If anyone will do anything about it, he will.

So yeah. Right now I am pretty pissed. We had our first grade/test in AP physics yesterday and I got a 60 on it, and I had the HIGHEST grade in my class. Though it would of been admittedly higher if I didn't make one huge stupid mistake in one of the problems. I remembered the correct order of the problem AFTER turning it in though. But still, that is pretty pathetic. xD

Dear ARJ,
Yes, our Class of 2009 may be the biggest and brightest one you have had to graduate in years. Yes, a bell curve is nonexistent in our GPAs as well as really low scores....BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR SENIOR CLASS! You know we have been procrastinators all throughout our highschool journey, but making our senior year our hardest is just not right. We are risking our GPAs here... We cannot take the classes we want to, because they are "easy". Nope, you just place us in an Advanced Placement class without asking, making our schedule unchangable because of the classes we have to take. That is just wrong...

Sorry, just had to get that out.

Just as I thought. Like I said in a previous blog, details got better after chapter 3, bringing my opinion up, but the writing style increased my disappointment greatly. Maybe there is a reason it is like that? I do not know, but right now I am happy I did not pay full price for this book like I did the last three or I would of taken the book back, after I was done with it. (I take GREAT care of my books. Until Nick and his family gets their hands on them, they are as good as new)
I mean, seriously Mrs. Meyers, did you expect those of us who have liked the series since it came out, before it got really popular, to enjoy it as much as the Harry Potter turned Twilight Zombies?:sarcasm:

Someone, like Seiki who has liked it just as long as me, tell me this gets better.

Ouch. DX I'm sorry to hear that.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm homeschooled and severely behind, so I have to spend this year making up basically... all of highschool. XD
